Hey Devvon Udio has competition:“ElevenLabs”…

Ableton man here (don’t attack me idc, I’m not dying on any hills). And i absolutely love going into the comments and seeing the studio one gang 😂 ride for your DAW, I love it. I wish I still cared about a DAW that much, I feel like now all I do is know they all have differences, and would benefit a lot from taking notes and integrating ideas from others, but they won’t, bc they have to compete somehow. I bet in 10 years, literally all DAWs will have all the same capabilities(they basically do already) but I think the cream (I.e. the most sought after functions(proper bussing, sidechaining, piano roll, stem separation etc.)) will be in every single DAW, how are they going to compete with each other in the future. It’s basically at a point with plug ins where people are making up problems that don’t exist. I hope we are able to keep enough money in the community to keep the devs going, but they are going to have to get extra creative to compete with each other.

Ableton user here! I run an AT2020 (plan on upgrading to a 103) into a Apollo Solo (610-B Pre, LA-2A) I’ve had similar issues with my console lately with Apollo where it doesn’t recognize my microphone at time, and I’ve found the best work around to get it to work is to update your OS or reconnect the XLR cable. My Apollo gives me issues from time to time but I can’t complain, UAD’s plugins (especially the Pultec and 76) make it EXTRA WORTH IT. I don’t see myself leaving UAD anytime soon unless Neumann successfully swoons me cause that MT48.. 😍 Also LJ, I recommend you look into the new PreSonus Quantum interfaces, they’re COOKING RIGHT NOW. Love the podcast guys, been a long time fan and you guys help realize another passion within songwriting which is engineering.

I haven’t had any problems (yet) with Apollo solo and have a Mac 💻 , and for me it’s worth it cause VOG and SSL E channel is worth it. I find that most of their plugins are better than the equivalent with Waves and Brainworx except for CLA -76. But pultec definitely 💯. They just seem to have more depth and weight in the sound.

19min marker: honestly I checked the clarity and cost difference between the Apollo twin x vs the audient ID14 and the ID14 was the same and it was cheaper. The Apollo is really expensive and mainly it’s because of the UAD plugins. But most people I know use waves so they aren’t using the plugins they’re basically paying for. That interface comes with plugins and the interface that’s why it’s way more. But it’s overpriced honestly

I really like Presonus studio interfaces I use their studio 26c interface when i am on the go and when I am home I use the 1824c and I love it! It's great when tracking guitars because their preamps are great if you are recording a guitar player that is heavy picker. I have used the 3rd gen 2i2 and with heavy picking guitar players it has always given me problems with clipping and with the presonus studio interfaces i have no issue with that. To boot the prices are really great! the 26c goes for 124 dollars and the 1824c goes for 499 dollars. If your flow revolves around dsp pluggins then this interface isn't for you. You would probably want to true their new quantum interfaces which have dsp stuff

iZotope is still by far the best tools. The combination of nectar, neutron, and ozone is just unstoppable overall. And when it's paired with FL Studio it's ultimate in my opinion. I left my focusrite, SSL and uad then purchased an Antelope Audio Zen Q interface and I'm never looking back! When I heard the quality of my speakers double immediately and the crystal clear clarity of the preamps, and their new built in effects are closest thing ive ever heard to real analog gear and they are better than all the uad plugins. The antelope audio paired with the edge solo modeling mic is amazing. I feel like I finally you can shape and get any sound I can possibly want now 🎶🤘 (btw Neumann isn't the best company. Honestly when I mix Neumann vocals it's ALWAYS overly squeezed and too heavy in the low mids permanently and I can't get rid of it. Some of the new modeling mics feel like the new wave of today's time, for versatility)
