One thing though: Saying "Can I be honest?" and "I'm not gonna lie / I ain't gonna lie" 100000 times per episode is crazy :) Is that a local thing? Do people lie so much over there that you constantly HAVE TO express that you're being truthful? ;)

Yes and no. For music only, perhaps, but the trio of Logic, Cubase and S1 can't rule each other out as they are massively similar. For audio work that goes beyond music, (post production, virtual reality, film, live, recording, game audio), absolutely no shot! To hammer home point 1 a bit further: Logic has AI stem separation, AI session players and a solid iPad -> Mac workflow. Cubase has the best sample browser on the market, AI vocal separation (+ full stem separation at an additional cost, probably the best sounding one as well) and a boolean automation tool for all sorts of tedious DAW functionality. S1 has a mastering suite, advanced drag & drop functionality, modern MIDI tools (chord strumming etc.), the most advanced & easy to use Dolby Atmos integration (both Apple + Dolby renderers) All of these are like top of my head. Probably the big standout features anyway. I have licenses to all 3 and know how similar they are, while still having different, unique features. Btw, FL Studio lacks like all of them 👍and surely another 80% of all the other, shared features.

How DO we remove the clicks and pops and statics in FL??! On what you touched on in the beginning
@damnrney6 ай бұрын
I think LJ is talking about how the audio clips are independent of the tracks in the playlist. You can make them unique and route them however you want. Working with vocals in FL feels more like producing than mixing where as pro tools and logic follow a more linear path. It’s pretty much impossible to have the same freedom.
@MaximusWhyman6 ай бұрын
You can copy a vocal take to a new track, which has a new mixer channel in any other daw, the same thing. To me that is more mixing than it would be in any other daw, because you’d have to manually route things instead of it just being routed unless I’m missing something?
@damnrney6 ай бұрын
@@MaximusWhyman Yeah of course but the workflow allows you to freely route WHATEVER, HOWEVER you want. And the modularity of it operates more like building blocks rather than working in time. Idk it’s kinda hard to explain and can get really messy but I understand where he might be coming from.
@MaximusWhyman6 ай бұрын
@@damnrney I get it, I have FL studio and use it. I’m just not as fast on it as other daws. For myself, I understand that you can do that, but I don’t understand why it would be faster? In other daws, when you copy a part over to a new track, it automatically routes to a mixer. In FL, you’d have to physically do this. Adding another step to me is a waste of time

While the ram price with Mac is outrageous, in general soldered ram usually allows for faster speeds and better performance and lower power draw. There is currently a portable removable ram standard coming out that’s aiming to rectify the drawbacks of removable ram, will Apple adopt it? Probably not. But that ram price gouging is nuts. Personally if the ram upgrades were cheaper and started with 32gb no one would complain. But that 8gb not then 200$ for 16 not gonna fly

Mmmm I hear the Apple ram argument often but, we are talking about SOC obnoxiously fast memory…definitely not one and the same with currently available external ram. If 64gb of ram on a HP was one in the same spec and performance wise and Apple was just inflating the price I could understand that..but this ram is so fast having an abundance of it is not really as necessary as it used to be..it’s hyper efficient..for us in the audio world having more dedicated performance cores is of more importance and even then..the older m1 pro’s are still killin heavy sessions with ease🤷🏾♂️ IMHO

Not sorry but if you paying for Mac’s in 2024 you’re a sucker. A 13900k for $500 blows any M chip out the water. Most modern interfaces are compatible with PC. No reason to pay $1400 for RAM that would cost maybe $400 MAX on a PC
@django31086 ай бұрын
No Windows laptop has the Apple package: VERY low fan noise (literal silence), power (M1 Max alone can mix and master massive mixing sessions at the same time and still do other things with no sweat... We're at M3, and M4 is coming out within the next 6-9 months), and battery life (10-15 hrs). Lemme repeat that. NO Windows laptop has that.
@JakeLewisReal6 ай бұрын
@@django3108 Incorrect. the 13900's used within various Windows laptops outperforms all M chips. Everything you said the M chip does, the 13900 does and does better. A google search will show you all the specs! As for fan noise, that depends on the laptop & how much you spend. The biggest takeaway is a PC with a 13900 CPU & 64GB RAM is 40% the price of a maxxed out Mac and performs better. Sorry to break it to ya like this brotha lol.
@django31086 ай бұрын
@@JakeLewisReal U didnt say the 3 things I said. U said power and fan noise, didn't mention battery life AT ALL. No PC laptop is going to output the amount of power a M series will, with that low noise, and last THAT LONG off the charger. I've been a lifelong PC user with regards to music production. These M series things are truly impressive.
@JakeLewisReal6 ай бұрын
@@django3108 If you think longer battery life and (possibly) lower fan noise with lesser performance justifies an additional $2-4k then so be it. I think it's extremely foolish for 90% of people. I believe a substantial majority of producers and engineers have immediate access to an outlet while working. Also, the various PC laptops I've owned and used are inaudible when critically mixing and recording, so this battery life and fan noise point is quite weak. PC performs better, parts can be swapped out & upgraded DIY and it is substantially cheaper.
@django31086 ай бұрын
@@JakeLewisReal I'm a recording artist and you are 100% dead wrong about noise getting into mics not being an issue. Sure I could use a noise gate or some noise reduction plugin/software. But why degrade he signal when I could instead just not have a noisy computer/interface LOL Also I travel. Sometimes I need to do work for myself or for clients on the go. Helps to have a computer that won't die in 3-4 hours. No one is denying that a PC is more powerful. But no PC has the magic combination. Its just all power. Music production isn't massively dependent on power (people were making music before computers lol). But a good clean signal with no noise is always going to be appreciated.
