I have given up many things and I feel good about it because this rescue is amazing, from the vet team and the carer’s I’m giving back because humans have hurt them but also because of the love and appreciation I have had from all my fur family who made me a better and happier human. I wholeheartedly don’t do it for attention but explaining why I support and encourage others to donate and join on a regular basis so VIictor and his team can continue caring for the long term era and the ones that t are in desperate need of love and care and eventually a second chance with a happy ending. My animals through my 63* years really helped me understand the meaning of unconditional love and receiving it. I support many animal charities from primates, elephants and bears etc etc but lets adopt I think stands out for there commitment to the end in making each animal live it’s best life.

Im happy to see Bambi doing so well! The idea of a helmet is a great idea to protect her head. Im sure shell adjust to it quickly. Im sure shes happy to have a safe loving home after all she went thru. I adopted a dog last night that is 12 years old! She put an ad on my neighborhood app, and no one wanted her due to her age. The shelters and rescues here are full, and not accepting any more animals at this time. I felt so bad for her, and kept looking at her face knowing how hard it would be to be rehomed. I got her last night, and the owner just drove up, gave me the leash, chatted a second (no reason why rehoming just dont want her anymore), and drove off. Poor Lucy stared at the truck looking so sad and confused. Shes settling in well, but I know she has to be very sad and confused. I cant even comprehend rehoming a dog Ive had 12 years, and shes a wonderful well trained dog. It breaks my heart, but its happening so much here, and worse many are just turning them loose or dumping them on the roadside.

Thank you for giving Lucy a forever home and family. People these days seem to think everything is disposable especially if it causes the slightest inconvenience or disruption for them. Many people are far too self centered and self focused and have no business bringing a precious fur baby into their lives. They don’t think long term and we all know our fur kids are a lifetime commitment and joy!!! Thank you again and may God bless you and Lucy with a long, happy, healthy life together!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I just love this little wobbly doggie. Her happiness is so evident in her frolicking and prancing...in her own way of course. She's affectionate and easy going. Bambi doesn't know she's handicapped. She goes about her day like everybody else. Thank you for taking this sweet girl in and giving her a wonderful life 💕

As an RN who works in a hospital in the US I can say that this pup has more determination/ambition then 98% of my pts. While humans whine & want easy fixes provided by others instead of fighting their own health challenges, this pup enjoys everyday & takes on any challenge thrown her way & does not give up!!! Would rather help her then a whiny human anyday!!! TY for giving her a wonderful life she so deserves!!!❤❤

Seems as though she can't see very well with the helmet on! But does seem to control her movements better!

I think it’s because she doesn’t have a full range of vision that forces her to try to regain control of her movements and in the end control her position in space. We are looking for the perfect solution.

The wonderful thing about animals is that they don't know what handicapped even means. Whether it applies to them or an animal/human friend of theirs. If it's a sudden change, i. e. an amputation, they simply adapt and move on.

She does do much better it seems with her helmet on!!! Bless her heart!!! And there are people that would adopt her, but right now it may be that they are already full, though their heart breaks for not being able to do so! Bambi is a wonderful dog, of whom I wish I could cuddle!! Uncle Isidor mentioned ataxia, and I got nervous, because the sweet pooch that just passed had really bad ataxia. Praying for Bambi, and we all know that LA gives their babies an amazing life, as much as they can as they depend on us to help as well!!! I wish I could give more, and at times I can. I'm sure others donate more when they can as well. We all just wish those who really could that wanted to make more of a difference could see that donating to an animal cause is not a wasted gesture, but one that pays eternal dividends!! The no-kill animal rescue I volunteer with is a small group of animal lovers that keep our animals in our homes and let them experience what it feels like to have one. I know not all animal shelters can do that, but I wish those who were able to financially help them would do more for the animals, as shelter/rescue staff and funds are maxed. Let's keep helping rescues like LA and even your local shelters, pounds, and rescues!!! If only you knew how much the animals thank you for your gifts!! GOD bless!!!

Is it possible to get her a more custom made helmet ? That one seems a bit large for her. It seems to restrict her vision ( which might be helpful with her condition) and also her ears. If that's something that's possible, I would gladly cover the cost, or as much of it as possible.
