I don't care about the guitar you play. You always and I mean ALWAYS have a tone just incredible and that voice comes a lot from your playing, your fingers. Thank you Allen, prince of guitar. ❤ And this Lester is really classy with the simpler headstock without the split diamond inlay and the aged binding. Beautiful instrument.

In 2004-2005 Gibson also did a run of guitars that were known as Les Paul Standard Limited. They were available in 5 different finishes Santa Fe Sunrise, Manhattan Midnight, Trans Amber, Pacific Reef and a Guitar Center exclusive Black Cherry . These guitars were very similar to the Classic custom. Same headstock with the binding and crown inlay, ebony finger board. The binding on the Limited Standards were very white and they had "mini" tuning machines which I thought were awful... They had flame tops and Burst Bucker pickups, I believe Burst Bucker 2 in the neck and a 3 in the bridge.

These were SO underrated when they came out in '07/08. I remember going NUTS when I worked at GC and pulled this one out of the box to hang it up. I'll take a Classic Custom over a '59 any day.

Back in 1990 a new Gibson real Custom was only $1,200 bucks. I know because me and the guitar shop owner pulled out the dealer catalog book and found the one with the antique ivory finish I wanted and he ordered it for me. Almost 3 months later it showed up.
@UltimateEngineering9 ай бұрын
Thats $2900 today, adding inflation. Still a lot of money, if Japan is building better guitar for $500 nowdays.
@johnsmith-ug5tp9 ай бұрын
Burger flippers and Walmart workers are making 700 bucks a week. If you cant afford to finance a guitar for 12 months interest free there is something seriously wrong with you. Maybe give up your childish gamer boy toys and your $1,200 per year stupid expensive phone and other monthly subscriptions . I always SMH at these Gibson haters that spend 1000`s per year on their stupid games, phones, tats, clubs and porn, but spending 2 or 3 grand on a music instrument that will last a lifetime and they can sell if need be is over priced.

I'm already a bit older but I'm wondering where did the diamond shaped inlay of the earlier Les Paul custom headstock go. And that includes the bindings, the gold plating and the block inlays of course. And yes, I know the sandwich construction and volute were not in favour with a lot of players. I owe a 1972 that has it all but sounds awesome and maybe even more important, it has a kind of personality in its' sound, believe it or not. Very informative video anyway. And nice playing too.

I actually HAD the silver burst classic custom, guitar of the week # 16, great guitar. However, the neck carve was way too thin for my liking, sold it towards an early 80's 335.

thanks.. i use redplate backline amps.. 2 amps with 2, 1 x12 open back cabs...loaded with celestion Creambacks i think 90 watts each?.. all the overdrive is from the amps. I go into one head... out )of effects send) to the pedal board into stereo chorus , verb, delay ..fed back into the returns of each head..oh, and some pedals are out front of the input of the amp..hope that helps
