There ya go; he has laid it all out for those who wish to hear. In order of importance: quality of composition, rhythm (feel), note choice, good instrument. If you check those four boxes, then just remember to keep it simple. Here is a man that embodies what a musician really is. Bravo Allen. And thank you Lee for a fantastic interview.

One of my guitar friend introduce Allen Hinds music to me and I addicted to him. His music is so spiritual and healing, even for those who are not guitar nerd, he deserved a lot of love and respect.

Very true regarding Allan Holdsworth. The slower parts of Allan's playing almost pull you out and captivate you. His outside playing and shredding keeps getting highlighted but the best of his music to me was: - his dynamic touch, including the whammy bar use - just amazing melodic chord progressions - the 'slow' parts of his music where it's almost like someone is singing - his guitar tone, which is a rabbit hole for many

Besides being among the pantheon of guitar legends, Allen is a great teacher and I'd bet, a great mentor as well. Cheers to the Captain for bringing him on, and bringing out the greatness that he has to share. Man, this was really, really good. 👌👍🙏🏻

Allen is fantastic, one of the best and a genuine 360 player; he can play and talk about what he does! Guitar Techniques magazine has been featuring video tutorials with him for years. We're on the third video series at the moment where he plays over my pieces and then discusses his approach afterwards.

Wonderful interview and Lee just let him talk away with any interruptions!

Thank you, Anderstons! 42:50 the first time I came across this "pull string" technique was a Steve Via lesson of sorts. Steve was explaining to pull the string, then bend it. Almost a circular motion. IIRC, Steve was talking about how it was a true vibrato since the note goes flat/pitch/sharp. Anyway, it takes a bit practice but fun to do and cool effect when it fits. Cheers!
