@FrenchManZary1 that's true. But people are getting more aggressive and the occurrence is becoming more frequent recently. The more these big companies step their foot in our world, the more these people get rattled, as if they're actually waiting for this moment. I actually took a 1 week break (as in I avoided anything keyboard related) because I saw a review comparing both ROG's vs Razer's newest offering and the comments section is worse than here. Looks like I'll take another, j/k.

So, as someone that used Razer products in the past but has since taken a different approach to peripherals: I dont agrer with Razer Software being the least bad. It uses a ton of ressources for unknown reasons. Its a Nightmare to delete and it just sucks outside of being User friendly interface wise.... Thank you for covering this though!

Razer has really stepped it up in terms of software. They have cleaned it up significantly and it doesn't bog down the system anymore, and most of their peripherals have on-board storage to remember all your settings/profiles. Deleting it is also very simple now. I have been using Razer products since the very first deathadder and I know what you mean by their crappy software, but thankfully that isn't the case anymore. Props to Razer for such impressive improvements over the last few years.

*sigh* I guess the comment section will always be plagued with stereotypes, but that's fine. So I guess I'll explain some of the stuff just to give out more information. 1. "If you're bad at gaming, it can't magically make you good, you still suck". I know you hate the marketing that gaming companies do and judge the peripherals accordingly. But it's similar to having an overpiced good knife, it can't make me a pro chef, but heck it feels good to use. And as a former competitive person, any advantage that we can get, even if it's just a miniscule .001%, we'll surely get it. Yes, not worth it, but it's not about being worth it. Heck, all custom keyboards aren't worth it. I can just buy A4tech and be as productive anyway. This applies to higher-polling rate too. Yes, it can't make you a better gamer, but it's like saying taking vitamins will magically make you immune to sickness. It doesn't work that way and the sooner you look at it from this perspective, the less stress you'll feel whenever you see someone review a gaming keyboard that isn't made for you and you'll never buy. 2. "Chinese companies makes just as good software, if not better". Pretty sure you didn't do a deep dive of the software and you only care about the common stuff; that's okay. But if that's the case, then all software sucks and VIA is the best. But no, for some people UX is really important. I myself is a function over looks type of person, but the generic Chinese RGB software sucks to navigate. Besides that, gaming company software offer more than just remapping keys and RGB. They have graphs and stats (which I understand doesn't matter to you, but I still have to mention it). But the best functionality IMO is this. While I understand that iCue isn't the best, but for sure it's the most comprehensive RGB software that I've used. It gave me the ability to cycle through all my saved RGB profiles with one press of a button. They also partner with gaming developers to have custom lights while playing their game and it add immersiveness. I understand that it doesn't have value for 99% of people in the world but that doesn't mean that these features should be overlooked nor invalidated.

Apparently software is a big part of these boards and from what I see is what most people see as important to the value. Most of us are okay with something basic like VIA, but apparently a big selling point for wooting is the software even tho, IMO it's an overpriced piece of crap, that sounds terrible, but started the optical switches = better gamer hype train, even tho if you're bad, you're still gonna be bad with it. Razer software is hit or miss for me, I kinda liked it, but then apparently it download a bunch of other stuff with it that just randomly lauches and runs in the background (that could be on me for not looking closely at the installer tho).
