Great job at editing Ted. It really shows just how much time you put in to it. The breakdown of who the book is for is great as well. I’m dipping my toe in fantasy with The Dresden Files, but will definitely add this to my tbr once I want to get deeper into the genre. Character driven plots always draw me in to a book, so I would say that’s what is drawing me in.

Thanks for the compliment! :) If you enjoy character driven stories, you may enjoy the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. However, the Way of Kings is a wonderful hybrid, in my opinion.

I'm very leery of getting invested in long series of doorstopper novels these days, but I enjoyed the heck out of your video. Nicely presented. Nicely structured. Nicely edited. Just nicely done all around.

Amazing video, Ted! Great music and visuals! Loved it! To answer your question of the day, I read all released Stormlight books and I'm waiting on Wind and Truth. The character that most interests me is Shallan. Although she is FRUSTRATING, her development is very good. The second most fascinating character in my opinion is Dalinar, for reasons I can't explain yet because you haven't read ahead. Glad you enjoyed the book! Happy reading!

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Salome. :) Much appreciated! I'm only 1/3 of book 2 and so far Shallan is irritating me a bit - ahaha! I can see room for development, however. Thanks for answering my QOTD! :)

Great video, Ted! You're definitely making me want to read the series more and more. I'm just nervous about diving into yet another series that isn't finished. I have a hard time remembering what happened in previous books when there is a large gap between publication. Books should have a "previously in" section at the beginning like TV shows do haha. Again, fantastic work and I'm looking forward to the next one! - Todd

Thank you, brother! This came at a good time. I was feeling discouraged about my YT growth, so I appreciate it. And yes...wouldn't that be great? I'm showing my age, but I remember Cliff Notes. I think if there's a huge gap between printings, you can always use ChatGPT or Wikipedia LOL Is the Dungeon Carl series all done? Or is he still making books?
@Mysterious-Galaxies
@Mysterious-Galaxies 2 ай бұрын
@@TedReadInstead Man, I totally understand what you mean about feeling discouraged. I've been feeling the same way recently, but I know it's just a stage and so I'm powering through until it gets better. Yes! Cliff Notes and Spark Notes! I remember both and may have read a few back in high school for some of the more boring books haha. The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is not done. The seventh book was published last month, but I'm feeling burned out on it. The good thing about those books is that they all kind of follow the same simple plot lines and themes so you don't need too much of a recap. Keep it up, though, Ted. Your videos continue to get better with each one! Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

Oh, I love your sweatshirt, wow! I still haven't read any Sanderson, must prioritise some contemporary fantasy, think I'd really enjoy this. I'm going to start with Robin Hobb, & maybe get to Sanderson afterwards. The length of these multivolume fantasy books is certainly daunting, do you think they need to be as long they are, or is this just a product of the convenience found in the modern word processor?

Awesome review. I love The Way of Kings, but Words of Radiance is my favorite! Kaladin is easily my favorite POV in The Way of Kings. Shallan had some interesting moments, but only some. She gets to shine a little more in Word of Radiance though!

You're not alone. Kaladin is many people's favorites. I like him as well. He's definitely one of the more sympathetic characters. Sanderson writes him in a very relatable way. I hope to enjoy more of Shallan in WOR. As of now, she's just irritating me a bit! LOL.

Shallan and Kaladin are two characters that I enjoyed in the WoK but that I had a hard time relating to. I think I relate better to Kaladin now these years later but now Shallan just kind of annoys me now that I've finished the first four books lol. Kaladin will probably always be my favorite but I did really appreciate the other perspectives that we got more of in The Rhythm of War.

Hey Ted, have you checked why you are not getting more views? I think it's an SEO problem. You need to do proper SEO on the video title, description, and on the tag section. In this video, your SEO score is 0 out of 100. You have to make it 80+ by doing SEO. Do you know how to do proper SEO?
