One thing i used to do is when i bought new fishing equipment is i would always be scared to use it becuase it was so perfect, so i started giving my 600$ rods and reels a nice scratch when it was brand new. That made me stop being so careful with my eqiupment and made me actually use and enjoy it

Loving your content. Found my new binge channel to play while tinkering. My favorite projects are the ones that allow me to utilize a tool that I bought or was given previously but didn’t have an excuse to use. My right side of keyboard tools are: an old set of calipers, the cheapest blue snips yet no money can find their equal, and a deburring tool that’s just the right amount of dull to perfectly clean up 3D Prints.

Good stuff- I gotta get me some of those snips, don't know how I've made it this long without owning them, they're so much better than regular wire cutters that I have in their place right now. Thanks for the comment

@@EvanMonsma for some reason, no money can beat the snips you get with cheap 3d printers. Lol

Tools need a story for me to want to use them. Making and renovating old tools is always the most fun and will probably get the most use.

Tools having stories is something my dad has always been big on, I'm just now starting to understand it myself after moving out and working on so many house projects. This video really captures that feeling, the connection when you pick up a tool and feel the link. For me personally it's the old beaten up workshop table downstairs. I painted it white with a vinyl decal and every new ding on it when I'm working on a project is "my" contribution to its history along with all the drill holes and gouges in the table from the previous owners of the house
