When the mountain split and the roman pierced His side, water carried the blood through the crack of the mountain due to the earthquake. That blood would drip upon the left side of the mercy seat of the ark, which was placed there before the destructive invasion hundreds of years prior. Marsha, Well said sister! I hope to give you something to think about, and maybe change a little bit of how you think of yourself. The moniker “Gentiles” comes from the Latin word “gens” which merely means “nations”. There is a moment when we are “Gentile believers”, but as soon as we are believers we become “Jews” on the inside, Look at Romans 2:29 It’s not wrong to say “Gentile believers” but when we realize we’re much more than that! Our thoughts begin to reflect the “grafted in” aspect of our belief in Christ Jesus. We are no longer members of the other nations who now believe, but we are Believers of the risen Messiah who used to be from one of the other nations! Do you see the juxtaposition? Sister my name is Ron and I hope you read this in the true love that it was written. God bless you!

If you’re grafted in you’re considered Israel, not a gentile. Gentiles or nations are outside of covenant. Don’t practise the ways of the gentiles, come out from among them and be seperate.

The months had alternatively 29 or 30 days. To distinguish the different months the Canaaneans names, which are related to the seasons of the year, were used. In the Bible occur the months Abib, which means green ears of corn, and stood for March-April (Exodus 13:14; Deuteronomy 21:1); Ziv, meaning flower, equivalent of April-May (II Kings 6:1,37); ETHANIM, meaning constant waters, for September -October (1 Kings 8:2) and Bul, which means rain, for October-November (1 Kings 6:38). Towards the end of his stories of Jesus' infancy. Luke describes Mary's remembrance of these events, "And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart (Luke 2:19)." From this indication, Luke thereby revealed Mary as his first eyewitness from the beginning. From her story to Luke, therefore we can derive when Jesus was born. Luke 1:5-9 Luke 1:10-25 The incensing in the Temple indicated a specific feast was being celebrated, the Feast of Tabernacles or Dedication of the Temple. This feast originated from the first dedication of the Temple by King Salomon who timed the dedication with the feast of Booths (in Hebrew Succoth or Sukkot). 1 Kings 8:1-2 All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ethanim (the seventh month). In the original Roman calendar this would correspond to the month of September, so that if we calculate the time of the feast, it would have been around September 18-24. Then when Zechariah returned home and Elizabeth conceived, it would have been around September 25. Luke 1:26-38 The time in the story of the Annunciation to Mary and her subsequent conception of Jesus is mentioned twice: in v. 26 "In the sixth month," and in v. 36, "she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month." Keep in mind the shepherds were Levites, and the towers were ceremonial clean. They were described as odor free and very clean. Not dirty like some muse. They would light a lamp on top to signal to the rabbis in Jerusalem that a lamb was ready for inspection.
@jeannet74434 жыл бұрын
Nelson, that is so interesting! I have read that shepherds had difficulty maintaining ceremonial purity because of their profession, and were thus part of the "despised" class, if you will. Were these a special category of shepherds, then, specifically devoted to caring for the temple flock? That would make sense. Furthermore, it leads me to wonder if the shepherds in the tower may have also provided Mary with the swaddling cloths.
@nelsonleemiller4 жыл бұрын
@@jeannet7443 Yes the only reason they could be described as low class is about their effort to maintain ceremonial cleanliness. It has nothing to do with their actually occupation as many infer and say things like "they were dirty and smelly so people looked down on them and shepherds were the low class" Not quite! And yes, the swaddling clothes were used priests garments, white linen torn into strips because they were no longer perfectly clean. The lamb of God was dressed like a priest from birth. These same strips of priestly garments were also used as wicks to light the lamps.

What an awesome, amazing story. I didn’t know the priests inspected the sacrificial lambs in a manger, nor did I know they swaddled the lambs before carrying them away to make sure they were protected. I love it when a Jew finds Yeshua and then can share these details about our Lord. It is one more way that our Jewish brothers and sisters could know that He is their redeemer!

Some modern translations just say that Mary wrapped Jesus in "cloths" - not SWADDLING cloths. My gut instinct told me this was a "watering down" of Scripture, but at the time, I didn't know why. Now I know the significance of "swaddling" cloths. Never change the Word of God! Thank you, ONE FOR ISRAEL!

Someone noted that you have Jesus wrapped at birth and death while in the tomb like bookends of his earthly life. Of course when he was resurrected the wrappings came off.

@@JohnSmith-vp4ft - ...Because He then took on His Heavenly Shekinah Glory, being again rightly clothed and seated IN the Pillar of Fire and Clouds that is to say IN His Holy Spirit/His Throne while the Heavenly Father/His Soul was ON the Throne/His Holy Spirit. He became inside out as we will be one day also when we are changed (whether found alive or resurrected) at the Rapture, becoming servant to soul and spirit instead of the flesh being master. That’s when our flesh will be redeemed. “Look up...for your redemption draws near.” Revelation chapter 5 explains it better.

This is why the angels told the shepherds that this will be a 'sign' to to them, that they would see a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a feeding trough. Shepherds instantly understood the 'sign' when the saw the baby that this was not an ordinary baby and that He would have something to with Passover. We serve such an Awesome God! Blessed be He always!

What a beautiful set of details to flesh out the story so many think they know. (Me included) I knew about the flocks and the shepherds for the sacrifices but not the rest. Thank you. This also makes a good point. The government of the world made a decree and Joseph could have tried to rebel against it, but didn’t. God’s hand was in all of this for HIS purpose regardless of what man was doing. Yehovah bless and keep you all. Shalom.
