To be fair, a lot of people in the West do not see watching pornography as healthy.

True but this is a relatively new outlook on pornography in light of new research and sometimes just personal whims. It’s what sparked nofap and nonutnovember too.

Hmm very logical. Just like Islam Is the most peaceful religion, the logic the woman presenting is very logical. Ya very scientific.. So can you please answer What are stars..? What shape is the earth? Seems very scientific... Directly comparing hijab with Bikini.. I guess I this modern era there are 2 types of dresses either a Hijab or a bikini... 👍👍👍👍 Very informative. Very rational.

@@ms-zo3zb the problem is not the teaching of Islam, it is how we teach it to the people. the ayah talking about hijab address how people should lower their gaze and protect their private. the problem is muslims tend to focus on the second part wich is talking about the hijab, and forgot that lowering their gaze is more important as it is addressed before addressing the hijab

@Ar S No, we are not holier than other. We believe Islam (the religion) is perfect but muslims (the people) are not. therefore we are not holier than other. more over, we believe that (in the judgement day) if some one had never understand the truth (Islam) or never heard about it while he/she has been trying to find it then he/she will be judged based on their knowledge and their doing only and their faith will not be judged. but if he/she didn't try to find it or deny the truth while actually he/she find it to be the truth than he/she will be doomed

I live in a Muslim country and I've noticed (family, friends, coworkers...ect) that the majority of Muslim women who are wearing Hijab are not practicing Muslims as opposed to those who are not wearing hijab. Millions of Muslim women do not wear Hijab pray more than five times a day, fast and follow every tenet of the religion.

Thank you for making this highly pertinent point in regard to gender relations. In Buddhism the Quran’s advice to men (lower your eyes in the presence of enticing women) is referred to as guarding the senses.

@@psychvision101many muslim men do not know how to behave around modern woman. Many think if they are not covered then Allah gave them free reign to do with them as they please. Islam teaches that woman are the possessions of men and can beat them if they do not do as the men command. Islam is not compatible with civilization.

Even with religious teachings aside, this is an incredibly important lesson to learn; being proactive unlike western reactive behaviors between gender interactions. I live in the US and we have a totally backwards view of equality nobody can agree with on either side. Now we have more than 2 gender… 😅 Even under most Christian ideals. It’s really quite frustrating. The objectification of women is such a slippery slope topic in the west because (like you said) it’s praised and also shunned almost by the same people… (what?)😅 there’s no respect for men nor for women; it can get really debilitating

@@irshadmobarak7981 'In the west, it is regarded as healthy for a man to watch pornography and unhealthy if he does not. It is regarded as healthy for a man to gaze ............' I had asked for evidence on these specific remarks. I saw from the video the papers referring to the 'study' and whilst I personally believe that showing images of headless women wearing bikinis was a glaring flaw, it is not the study that interests me. Fiske does not make the above quoted statement, Anne-Marie does, but why such a sweeping generalisation? For one thing, the 'west' includes a very large number of countries, each with their own cultural attitudes, traditions and social mores. I can assure you that where I come from, this statement does not conform to any semblance of reality and I find the suggestion that it does offensive.

@@patacornIt is widely accepted that there is nothing wrong with watching porn. It is completely normalised. I am surprised you take exception with this. Moreover male culture celebrates oogling women, with things like stag do's at strip clubs perfectly acceptable. This is not controversial. If you require further sources than widespread male experience, please Google 'watching pornography is healthy' and you will find plenty of articles discussing this. Thank you.

@@psychvision101 - I would have to look long and hard to find anywhere that it says a man who does not look at pornography is unhealthy. Do not pretend that you are saying the same thing Anne-Marie said. It is absolutely offensive to generalise in this manner, whether that surprises you or not. And why is this the message you choose to deliver when so many of us in the 'west' are concerned about the negative impact of pornography. Why be divisive as though you are not part of the 'west'!

@@psychvision101 Not always. There is plenty of female on male sexual harassment in the West. Almost every other day I see another story about some female teacher bedding one of her teenage students. We live in a hyper-sexualized modern world in which women wear scanty clothes and see through yoga pants and crave attention. Often, it is only called sexual harassment if the man that is coming on to her is not to her desired standard. There have been several studies showing this. If the man is high status / good looking enough, he can be quite boorish and disgusting and get away with it. There are also many false accusations, which have been well proven and documented. For this, the real answer is purdah. No men and women who are outside the prohibited degrees should be alone together. THAT would solve "me too" in and of itself. There are problems on both sides. Farhan is right about calling out men as culprits instead of just plainly citing the responsibilities of both men and women from the Islamic perspective.

Some people in the West think that masturbation would be healthy or that it would be harmful to live in chastity. It is not. Nothing bad happens to your body if you don't have sex. And it has a positive effect on the soul to abstain from masturbation. It brings a feeling of spiritual cleanliness and pureness. It also helps to in general to get better control over lower desires and get more self discipline.
