When they took Westbrook off the court, they went on a nice run. That should tell the Lakers something but the fact that no team that is considered a contender didn't want Westbrook should have been a major sign. It’s just mind blowing to me that the Lakers even wanted him. LeBron is high IQ and low to medium effort at this point in his career. Russ is low IQ basketball and high effort, but now he’s 34 in a shooting league when he can’t shoot. You can’t have a team of old men when one of your focal points plays low IQ basketball. Spurs chip was all guys who played smart, team basketball, and beat you with strategy and good shot selection. This lakers team seems to be the opposite, but still old lol

Russ had no power to sway and decide how to run the offense those first few years. LBJ can't teach a 14 year veteran new tricks. LBJ can't just treat Russ like a kid and having tibplay the way he wants him to play. LBJ also has to deal with him being gone for 12 games, AD being gone, and others with covid protocols. LBJ does not have the Russ that KD had for half of his time there. And...HE is 37 years old. Year 19. He is not in his 20s the way KD was with Russ nor is Russ in his 20s.

After watching Russ Westbrook on the Post Game interview, I must honestly say that the Lakers' issues are way beyond just Russ. Yes, he's turning over the ball, and yes he misses almost sure shots and the open man at times. What is anyone besides Russ and LeBron doing to really make a difference in the right direction? A.D. checked out since last year. That's obvious and a fact I strongly now feel that Russ is more of a scapegoat at this point in time than anything else. Shannon said it. They're just a bad team. Despite Russ' shortcomings, something went terribly wrong this season. They need a real down to earth team meeting with everyone, even ownership, and everyone needs to take accountability, if in fact they being true to themselves admit they also haven't done enough to get this going.

I think Russell Westbrook needs a Kemba Walker out of rotation kind of moment to get his head clear and reflect. It was frustrating at first but these guys just need some time. Kemba and Julius Randle were lost and had no chemistry the first 20 games. After being demoted, Kemba’s now the Player of the Week and said that being benched was a blessing in disguise. I believe in Russell. Let’s not criticize the guy so much. Give him time and he and Lebron will find that chemistry. Just ask Kemba !!!!
