Lately, January 4, 2023, I was listening to this sermon and I did not know that my ten-year-old son was listeing too at the other room. After I turned off the computer and was taking a nap, I overheard him talking to his mom that he wanted to be sure of going to heaven. My wife said "why?", he said, " I just heard a sermon about heaven that papa played a while ago". So my while told him to talk to Jesus, believe Him and recieve Him as his personal Lord and Savior. So, he, with tears, he prayed and revieved Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I praise God for your ministry. To God be the glory.

Don't bother, this preacher had no idea what he's talking about. Revelation 21 is describing conditions on EARTH, not Heaven. There are no tears and mourning in Heaven and death, these are earthly things that will be done away with in the Millennium.

When I first became a Christian and encountered Jesus in a personal and vivid way, I began to learn about what His Word had to say. One of the main things I wrestled with, was the concept of Heaven. It sounded so glorious, but also strange - which made me anxious for some reason. I remember talking to Him in prayer and saying “Lord, it all sounds so wonderful, but it’s so unfamiliar I feel afraid!” Clear as a bell He instantly replied “You know me don’t you?” I said ‘Yes, Lord - I know you, but not Heaven, it doesn’t sound like anything I am familiar with here!” He replied “All you have to know is, that where I Am - there Heaven IS”. I felt immediately reassured and I am sure He also impressed upon me that He would show me around when I got there. That was many years ago and now I am old, I do sometimes fear any painful process of dying, but again, His promise is that when we are in that shadow of death we shall not fear for He is with us and He will comfort us and welcome us to our new and everlasting home. PS. I also love that C S Lewis quote in this video which says “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world”. Heaven is our true HOME!

The only humans who enter Heaven are the 144,000, dumb preachers have been lying about Heaven, giving millions a false hope that will never come true! This was an AWESOME message and explained so much. I have heard all of those scriptures my entire life and was often confused but when you described where we would go as being in different phases, it made complete sense. We have mixed it all up telling people that the departed have "a new body" etc when those things have not yet even happened. Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

I had the most peculiar dream 5 years after my father had passed away, he came to me and it was soo REAL, I had not dreamt of him in a very long time. He said he loves me. He is fine, he wonte see me again because hes off to another level. I woke up crying, it was that real. @GODS Messenger, I suggest you reread your Bible then, because it clearly says “to be absent from the body IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD”. The dead body sleeps in the grave, but the spirit/soul returns to Jesus. So, right now in Heaven there’s many disembodied souls with Jesus, and waiting for the resurrection of their dead bodies. Jesus said Lazarus IMMEDIATELY went to Abraham’s Bosom, Old Testament Paradise, and the rich man IMMEDIATELY went to Hell. This was NOT a parable, Jesus NEVER used people who had names in a parable. Jesus Himself, His spirit, went to the belly of the earth, to Abraham’s Bosom to “lead captivity captive and gave gifts to men”, speaking of leading the Old Testament Saints to the 3rd Heaven where God’s throne is. Only Jesus’ dead body was in the grave. Our spirit is eternal, it cannot die, which is why Jesus preached more on Hell than Heaven, because people need to know that their eternal soul is going to spend eternity in either Heaven, or Hell. I know my soul is eternal because I died and I literally watched the rescue workers doing CPR on my dead body to bring me back to life, and I was just as conscious then in my spirit, as I am now in my flesh. I wasn’t dead for long, but it was long enough to know the spirit leaves the dead flesh body and continues to live. When they stoned Stephen to death and he died, his spirit left his dead flesh and saw Heaven open, and Jesus waiting to receive him. Jesus said on the cross just before He died that He commended His spirit into His Father’s hands. Jesus also says His Father did not leave His spirit in Hell, and what Jesus is referring to is the belly of the earth, where Hell and Abraham’s Bosom sat side by side, separated by a great chasm that couldn’t be crossed, so Jesus was in Abraham’s Bosom, and not on the other side of the chasm in Hell, but the vicinity of the 2 were in the same area, in Sheol. You can’t kill a spirit, and even the disciples knew spirits of the deceased continue to live, and only the flesh body is in the grave, because when they first saw Jesus after the resurrection they were frightened and thought He was a spirit, and Jesus told them to touch Him, because spirits don’t have flesh and bones like He had. Jesus was in His glorified body. The souls of the beheaded Tribulati0n Saints are in Heaven, their dead body is still on the earth. Paul said it would be better for him for his flesh to die and his soul to go be with Jesus, but it would be better for the Church of Christ for him to continue in the flesh. So, even Paul taught that our soul/spirit continues to live after the flesh dies, and the soul is with Jesus, but the flesh is in the grave. Jesus said nobody has ASCENDED to Heaven. Do you know what Jesus is referring to? His ability to ascend on His own righteousness as God incarnate on the Shekinah glory clouds to Heaven. He’s not talking about the spirit being received to Him after the flesh of a Saint dies. Jesus is the only one who can ascend to Heaven on His own righteousness, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the soul leaving the body and entering the spirit realm. You do know spirits are all around us and can see us, right? The Bible says we each have a Gaurdian Angel watching over us, and angels are spirits and are invisible to us, but they have the ability to become visible, as we see the 2 angels who appeared to Lot were changed into a visible form. The body of flesh and the soul are 2 different creations. The flesh body was formed from the dust of the earth, but God breathed our soul into us. You are twisting scriptures. You don’t know how to rightly divide. Man dies once, and (IMMEDIATELY) after is the judgement, as we see both the rich man and Lazarus were immediately judged after death. That’s why demons exist, because they can’t be killed, YOU CAN’T KILL A SPIRIT, but Jesus is going to lock them up one day for good, with Satan in the lake of fire. Just like the angels who sinned in Genesis 6 are locked in chains in Tartarus. You can’t kill a spirit, so when I die, my spirit immediately goes back to Christ, and my empty flesh goes in the ground. Absent from the body IS PRESENT WITH JESUS. That’s pretty straightforward, as well as are the other verses that say an empty body goes in the grave, not the spirit/soul. So, are you calling God’s word a lie, simply because you can’t understand scriptures and you’ve twisted the scriptures to suit you, just like Satan does?

Anything using weights and measures is never going to be other than literal. For example, the 50kg hailstones in Revelation 16 v 21 - if they aren't literal hailstones, then why mention a weight for them - it wouldn't make a smidgen, an iota, a kernel of sense to talk of 50kg hailstones if they are not literal.

It's so reassuring to have this condensed and crystal clear explanation of our life after death, and I must say that, among the dozen of videos from other pastors about the same subject, I find this one is the most complete that brings the most satisfying answers to a Truth seeker minded watcher as I am. But I still have a question that needs a precise answer and wasn't covered in this video , that is: When a believer in Christ dies, he is immediately translated to the presence of God, but what would happen to a person who never accepted Christ. Since there is no such thing called purgatory, and since the final judgement is yet to come at the end of the millenium, where this unbelieving person spend this span of time? In Hades ? or elsewhere?

No more sea.. revelation 21:1. I think he is talking about the deep is removed from heaven. Note the context that New Jerusalem is coming down from heaven hence no body of water to go through. Also what an amazing thought that God’s glory will fill the universe.

Consider this ... the sea is refer in the Bible as a place where the Beast (bad being) came out, maybe the connotation that refers as no more sea is that wouldn't be anymore a place where bad beings would come out from. SEE REVELATIONS 13:4 AND 20:8 AND OTHER PLACES OF REVELATION THAT SPEAK ABOUT THE SEA.

41:20 the word of god tells us it is not it is not for our interpretation and that it interprets itself. when it does not, we find david, for example, asking for understanding from god. the word of god is of infinite mind. we have finite minds. we need the infinite mind to explain what is beyond our finite minds. we need to approach the word of god in humble prayer seeking to find truth to live by that god may be given honor and glory.

Pastor Skip, please touch again on what happens when you die. The KJV Bible does say that Paul said while we are here we are present in body but absent from the Lord. Then in verse 8, he said he would RATHER be absent from the body and present with the Lord. The Bible also says that King David is still in his grave. "The dead in Christ will rise first." Well if the dead are already with Christ, then who is rising?

Sadly, many preachers misrepresent 2 Corinthians chapter 5, Chris. There is nothing in this passage about going to heaven. Let's take a closer look. In verse two we read: _"...we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling which is from heaven...."_ Note that he says "from" heaven. Then in verse five we read: _"....we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed"._ That is to say, "we do not wish to be disembodied; we want to swap our mortal body for our glorified body." And believers will do just that, at Christ's second coming.

To your last point; this is referring to the resurrection when we receive our perfect, resurrection bodies, those incorruptible ones that we have to inhabit eternity. Our souls are joined to that body at that time, having been with the Lord in spirit form.

@@IsaacNussbaum You are misrepresenting these verses (for example, Psalm 6 is David lamenting before God it's not describing the afterlife) One shouldn't take a couple of verses and make a whole theology out of them, they have to be understood in the broadest context. Christ himself says to the thief on the cross "Today you will be with me in Paradise" meaning, that very day; Jesus parable about the rich man and Lazarus clearly shows consciousness after death for those who are saved though the body is buried, Paul writes about this in 1 Thessalonians 4 13-18 These things only apply to those who die in Christ, it is important to keep that in mind. Nothing is said here of the resurrection of those who are not in Christ. That is referrred to in that passage you cite John 5:28, 29. but also in Acts 24:15. That is for unbelievers not Christians. WE go to be immediately with the Lord

Appreciate your message! It's very comforting. There is just one small thing, where you talk about interpreting the Bible literally. You're totally right! But why do you interpret the Bible literally except when it comes to scientific records? Genesis 1? The Firmament between the waters? Josuah 10:13 "the sun stood still in the middle of the heaven... and the moon" ... and 200 or more other verses? why is that not literal but everything else is? You think God doesn't know how to explain processes in His creation? Or can it be that our perception of reality has been polluted by satan?

We need info about this destination. Thank you for this sermon. FYI were there there actually 12 tribes Skip? Actually 13 because Josephs two sons are included along with his 11 brothers! The mentions of the tribe''s names in Scripture leaves one tribe out to give twelve. It is likely that the missing tribe in these mentions are the naughtiest at the time. I don''t believe the total number of disciples is so easy to nail down either. While the Bible mentions 12 disciples if you add the members up in different passages you'll get more than 12! Í think I counted 15 or so. If these are the guides to interpretation we may have to allow for Scripture's description of heaven to be non literal in places. After all it is describing things outside our experience.

"Thousand" is also a figure of speech. "My father owns the cattle on a thousand hills." - (How about 2 thousand hills?) - "A thousand years is as one day to God." -(So two thousand years are as two days? That would be strange considering time does not exist in Heaven). It's just saying God owns all the cattle (everything) and that God doesn't live within time.
