I do what I do because I saw my father get diagnosed with ALS, lose control of his body little by little and die. I want to be able to enjoy my body while I still can and not be regretful if someday something takes this ability from me. 36 y/o, stronger ever and I'll keep going as long as I can. edit : oh, and today's video montage was on point, love the transitions !

I feel motivation though the fear of failure, it's quite a daunting emotion but it really does energises me.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
ooo that's a different one. Failure isn't always a bad thing, it's an important part of learning :)

I've got Scoliosis and I have a lot of asymmetrical tightness in my shoulders and lower back. Creating mobility in my body feels amazing. Achieving more mobility, feeling better physically after every workout and stretch, that's what motivates me. Good video and really funny! - keep it up the good work 👍🏼
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
ah that's a tough one but mobility is the first thing to look at for fixing it, good stuff :)

What motivates me to do bodyweight training/yoga more than anything is simply the way it makes me feel. I feel like a million bucks after a training session unlike bodybuilding where I felt pumped up but stiff as a board. Just the feeling of being mobile and in control of your body is one of the best physical feelings!!!

100% can't beat the feeling you get from training, it's definitely different with bodyweight :)

Good question and good answer everyone is individual as Tom says my motivation comes in two parts I want to better myself but also set a good example to my kids and show that health and fitness is a part of life and can be enjoyable 😊😊

Love it, setting the example for your kids is a great motivation :)

10 years on from a stroke and i read a book called the science of self discipline and i realised id unwittingly used some navy seal techniques to complete last years resolution of reading 25 books in a year. And in October 17 i just wanted to do a dip and a pull up now i want better form and more of each, im unsure what my motivation was, but my self discipline keeps me going. That was a theory in the book, motivation is a fleeting emotion it quickly fades but the discipline keeps you going back to the gym.

I grew up as a teenager in the 60s. A brother a year older. So, I have the second born competitive thing. I still remember the day he could no longer beat me up. (sad to remember all those years ago) I still have that competitive motivation today, when by now, I should have long outgrown it. haha I was poor and could not play organized sports (and become a real athlete) because of working so much. I do remember having a long hard bicycle paper route for about 3 years as an early teenager. As a result, nobody my age could beat me in a bike race. So, I became hooked on the idea that I could excel in other areas. Have not given that all up yet. Way too much info Tom, but thats what you get for asking. haha Great video as always. Very well done.

Started doing a lot of weighted push ups and ring rows, scapular push-ups and pull-ups along side chin-ups and targeted rear delt work and my shoulders have never felt healthier. Always taking notes from your and other knowledgeable people's videos. :) Also, German hangs are amazing. On the side note, my running injury is getting better!

It is quite hard qustion. I feel like calistenic/gymnastic training is another level of knowing our body and that is why I change BB training to this type of training.I did not ever realise that workout can be so fun, handstands, new skills, conditioning everything is so different than weight training. Regards Tom, I love your videos!
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree there, it's a different kind of trainign :)
@LolasSky7 жыл бұрын
Me motivates just the FACT of doing sports. Is there a better feeling after the Workout? Knowing you worked for your goals. For me its not that important to learn new skills. I focus on that basic bodyweight skills since 2 years. There are so many faults that can be made even with a pushup and i always try to improve my form. And of course, i am honest, i do sport to look better :D i train with my own bodyweight since 2 years now, thr last one and a half months in a military style with a lot of running, mostly 5km or more and then doing pushups, pullups and situps afterwards. And so my body changed. I look more asthetic and i am more powerful. So guys, DO sport. It doesnt matter what kind of sports, just do it. As always tom, great video! Keep your down to earth mentality. For me that makes you to the most sympatic channel!

Agreed! You can't fake being a good athlete. It takes hard work and dedication. Being motivated by aesthetics isn't a bad thing either, it's great to feel pride in how you look :)

Hey Tom! I watched cowspiracy last night and it really got me thinking. Have you seen it? (If not go watch it ;) ) What's your thoughts about it? I'm considering going vegan or at least drastically reducing my consumption of animal products.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
I've seen it yes, it makes some good points but there is some questionable science in there (just like "What the health"). Quality makes a huge difference here. Buying from local farmers who use sustainable practices is completely different to factory farmed meat :)
