I have seizures too, and when I have absence seizures I'm usually sitting, and I fall over, which is very dangerous, so I'm glad to know that Griffin knows to get to the floor before he has a seizure. I have straps that go on most chairs to prevent me from falling.

When I was 6 and a half years old, I had my first seizure, at least the first been seen. I was diagnosed with epilepsy some time later, went to two different neurologists, and continued to take medicine until I was 13. My neuro said I'm fully recovered now. I'm now 17. I had absense seizures too but they were longer than his, but not long enough to give me any sequels, thank God. The thing that having epilepsy troubled me the most was sleeping. The medicine I took made me so sleepy. Because of this I think I slept in class every sigle day. So It was Very hard for me. I stopped taking medicine in the middle of the year. In the end of It, I was so much better, and was the first year that I could remember that ended without failing any subject.

I have an almost 2 year old that started having seizures every two-ish hours that was triggered from a febrile (fevered/sick) seizure. They didn’t stop even after the sickness went away and they showed no signs of slowing down. It was like a switch has been pulled and got stuck in the down position. kepra only decreased to about 5 a day. Neurologist solution was to try out other drugs on him or increase the current at the time kepra dose he had. I had connections that suggested I give him an NAD IV(vitamin b3), and also a Meyers cocktail IV(a blend of some essential vitamins). He was to have these treatments every day or so for a few times but after the first treatment they completely stopped and we did finish out the other treatments. If he gets sick we know we can give him NAD pills, the pill version of the NAD IV and it either prevents them all together for that sickness or that bout of seizures is reduced to about 3 for that sickness. He seems to be on the fast track to grow out of the seizures like some of his relatives did with their “normal” febrile seizure and I have the confidence to send him to daycare since I have been able to catch it every time that he may start up again since they were triggered by sickness. His seizures went from every two hours ish , to very few and far between. The NAD treatment for seizures might not be apart of mainstream medicine, but boy is it nice to have his future ahead of him for him to take ahold of and make great.

One thing you guys might look into if the seizures get worse is a seizure dog (or...well any dog! They will teach themselves 9 times out of 10) that will alert him (and/or you and your husband) if he is going to have one. Gives him a chance to lay down for the larger ones and you a chance to make sure he can't accidentally hurt himself.
@Ya_boi_jasper
@Ya_boi_jasper Жыл бұрын
That could help. But the dog could get distracted. They also have like 6..? Kids I think and 3 of them are special needs. It’s also a lot of money which with the things their kids need, idk how much money they have to afford a service dog or a dog in general. But that could definitely help.

My BC Tess's son, Maxwell Smart, became a service dog to a little girl with CP. He trained himself to predict her seizures, but he had to train his owner so she'd know how to respond to his warning. His mother let me know that I had Diabetes 2 with the sniff test in '95 before my dr. diagnosed it. I wonder if my other BCs might've had this other such abilities if noticed and trained earlier.

My son was diagnosed with epilepsy at 13 years old. He had both impaired awareness seizures, which were like he was sleep walking that could last up to 15 minutes and drop/convulsive (tonic clonic) seizures. Through many medication changes and dosage adjustments, he has now been seizure free for 1 year!💜 It is possible; keep praying and never give up hope! 🙏🤞🏻

No parent should ever have to see their little ones struggle like that. Not fair. This just breaks my heart. I truly hope he grows out of it. My nephew had mild seizures starting from about 2yo through about 6 or 7yo. You could barely even tell when he had one. He would just kind of freeze and then sit on his butt for 1-2 second… and then get back up… thankfully, he eventually grew out of it. He’s 11 now and barely even needs meds anymore. Stay strong! Much love! Best of luck!

A friend of mine has epilepsy and gets the full on “tossing yourself around the room” style seizures. I saw her having one once and even knowing what was happening it was scary to see. I can understand now where the idea of possession probably comes from. I didn’t know there were different types of seizures though.

There is hope!!! I was a diagnosed epileptic with severe seizures as a child and as soon as they found the medication and dosage for me they became controlled where I only had occasional seizures and then I grew out of them. I was told that I am seizure free with vaso vagal syncope in august. I finally can drive and be more normal. I wish him well with all.
