WHAT? NO FOOD? - SwT 80 BOAT WORK FUN AND REFLECTIONS

We get things done also this week, even though there has been some challenges. Food shortage in the stores and marina running out of petrol and diesel. Still we manage not only getting things done but also have some fun. I'm also sharing some reflections as a reality check between intense boat work and social life. Who would know the name of my boat would be such a strong statement today.

I`m sailing sailing around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.
Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since. Also more than 10 years experience from Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.

I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.

Yeah agreed! Seems not like a very good solution to me. One of the many reasons for why I ended up with BE FREE is small windows. Not so nice on anchor but safety at open waters in bad weather. Cheers 🍻

Hope that things eases over there. Looking forward to learning more about Wanderful's bad refit, could be useful to know what to look for. Got the opportunity to visit Be Free's hometown a few weeks back, my first visit to Tønsberg, nice city, too bad it was an intense business trip, did not get to see much other than meeting rooms, hotel room and a nice diner by the docks.

Starting to hear more stories about issues with workmanship in Grenada. Without KZbin, we may never know these things until too late. Hopefully with exposure Grenada will start improving their services. Wishing you fair winds.

I have done some interesting observations in Grenada and this is what I found out: Woodwork 30% more expensive Electrical from 25-100% if you buy hardware Canvas work 30-50% Rigging is not only catastrophic but 40-60% more expensive and even 30% of the job needed to be done is included. The list goes on... Grenada is pricing the entire island out of business. Expensive unreliable and poor quality. There is a few good guys and companies though, but still more expensive than Martinique that’s supposed to be expensive. Yeah I’m also surprised as it for a long time was talked about as the place to go. Only advantage they have at the moment is being among the safer places to hang out during hurricane season. Also the islands in the Pacific have been begging cruisers not to come last years as they could not handle the amount of boats going happy go lucky.
