Do you have any idea how many bad federal roads we have? Why build new roads when old ones are hell? 🤷🏻‍♀️ or you haven’t travel long distances by road?
@godfreyunaka6938
@godfreyunaka6938 2 ай бұрын
@@oladeleadaraloye5699 this is not an ethnic issue. 1) Nigeria is broke and cannot afford this project. The project was awarded without a transparent bidding process which violates federal law, plus the winner of the contract is a business partner to the President. Besides Nigerians do not have a history of domestic tourism and just because you build a road does not mean people will use it. What is the current traffic data between Calabar and Lagos??? 2) With most Federal roads in deplorable conditions this should not have been a priority to the Tinubu govt. This project is not economically viable because it does not connect all the major urban centers between Calabar and Lagos like Benin, Sapele, Warri, Yenogoa ,PH ,Uyo etc. Which means you would have to build connecting major roads for any economic viability. The two main highways that have the most traffic and people willing and able to pay tolls are Lagos thru Ibadan, Abuja to Kano and Lagos Benin Asaba Onitsha Nnewi Enugu Aba to PH. The East West road which they have been stealing the funds for over 15 years would have and should have been a priority. 3) Topological challenges. In Delta state there are at least 3 significant Rivers and in Rivers at least 6 rivers that bridges would need to built across, so besides the engineering challenges there is the significant cost associated with building these bridges because the coast line in the Niger Delta is criss crossed with rivers and creeks. I encourage people to simply look at a map of Nigeria's coast line 4) Lastly I do not believe this road will go beyond the Lagos Ondo border, my personal opinion is that this project was a quick and immediate way for Tinubu to recoup funds spent on his. election, and also to continue building his empire in Lagos. I have offered to bet anyone 1 million Naira that the project will stop at the Lagos border. Note the current estimate for the full project is 13 Trillion Naira over at least 8 years which means with a currency that drops 10 to 20% a year final cost would be 25 trillion Naira which was the total 2023 FGN budget. These are all legitimate criticisms that have been shared by many Nigerians and its unfortunate your Igbophobia blinds you from seeing that this is a scam on Nigerians. Una Mumu Never Do. Naija we hail thee

That road is too narrow for the urban traffic that it will have to sustain - you will need a minimum of 3 lanes on each side until the road gets out of Lagos when it can be reduced to two lanes per side. Ideally, the coastal road along VI all the way to Ibeju Lekki should have a minimum of 5 lanes in each direction. If we want to do something, let us do it properly once and for all!

The flooring does not look smooth, even and qualitative to me. I cannot also see well-designed drainage channels by the sides of the road or the more modern covered bucket sink drains in the middle of the roads. I wonder what design and method the contractor is using, unlike what I have observed in developed countries or any of the forward-thinking and futuristic African countries. The rough surface worries me and needs to be smoothed out to look like glazed pavements.
