Black Panther introduced Marvel fans to the world of Wakanda, which provided a major update to the MCU compendium. Naturally, the bulk of the film focused on the tribe of the Black Panther himself, T’Challa, but there were five other Wakandan tribes and, today, we’re going to talk about them. We all know the Jabari Tribe, led by M’Baku, shunned technology, but there’s a surprisingly good reason for this and we have to wonder if Shuri survived the snap, and might call upon these allies for help during Avengers: Endgame. We’ll also talk about the real life inspiration for some of the memorable characters you probably spotted in Wakanda.

Now, of this list of names, all but one refer to a real place. All appear in the MCU. What happened in them is fictional. Their exact geography and layout is a mishmash. However they are based on and representative of places that actually exist. When you hear the names you know credibly that they exist. The good thing about wakanda is it gives a historical pride of culture to black people in America. What is the same as a white person saying they're of Irish or Italian descent. A black person in America only knows that their family was from Africa they don't know where. They don't know what culture. So it gives back what was stolen. A United cultural history. The ability to say my ancestors culturally did this. This was the way of my people. Knowing where you came from is important. African Americans are a part of a blending culture. One day in the future Americans will say I am American and they will see other Americans as American. Not as black American chinese-american Arabic American jewish-american white American Native American but as American. We are slowly becoming a United people.

I love the fact that they gave kind of an in-depth character sketch of Shuri. I mean we all knew about her being intelligent and making such great technological advancements but never realized until now that she's probably the smartest one in the entire MCU. Now, Endgame did not do justice to all of that and the theory we heard in this video but well, they had to focus on the characters which were going to appear on screen for the last time (Yes, we're all going to miss Tony, Steve and Natasha real bad) but I hope that Shuri plays an even more significant role in the future Black Panther movies

Wakanda’s natural resource is vibrainium the Jabari also have their own natural resource it’s called “Jarbari wood”. Jabari soil was infused with vibrainium when the substance (in the form of a meteor) impacted that region, giving the trees that grow in that area special properties.
