Nice work guys! Hip flex, trail side bend, external rotation of lead shoulder (elbow pointed out), trail forearm supination (which leads to internal rotation of trail shoulder), and trail wrist extension. "The Milo Shallowers"

Excellent video Henry and Milo! I really liked the demonstration of the 3 wrong ways to do things. So many golf coaches are teaching one or another of these.

Really like how you say a player can succeed with a certain swing but it may not work for everyone. Nice open-minded vibe. Also, it helps me to know that shallowing happens gradually during the first half of the downswing and it isn’t a instant motion. It’s more of a gradual phenomenon. In your swing, you shallow only a little immediately but by halfway down the shaft has shallowed much more into that perfect zone. Great video!

Nice lesson. My entire life I never knew how to shallow the club during the transition downswing. There would be days it would just happen to occur and I never knew why I was playing well and couldn’t play consistently because I didn’t understand that shallowing the club needed to occur otherwise I would pull the ball. All of those bad moves were swings I use to have until now where I rotate and let the club shallow itself naturally.

It would be great to see your swing if I haven't already so I can best help, but here's a good video that comes to mind: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oITQoZJ6lsmthcU ...If I can ever be of further help to you in learning to Swing Like an Athlete, please do check out my website at milolinesgolf.com for in-person or online lessons, golf schools, or to become a member of my Online Academy.

Thanks Milo and Henry for yet another excellent clip. Any suggestions/drills you can recommend to someone who has a tendency of shallowing too early (ie: before transition) resulting in actually steepening in the downswing?
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I think we'd need to see your swing for that one, I'm assuming you mean getting the club laid off and then needing to pull down? Maybe like in this video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnjOiqmhj9mEh5I

The thought I focus on is that my left arm is above my right arm during the down swing or my right arm is below my left arm during the down swing (same thing, just two ways to think about it.)
@TheBirdieparbirdie Жыл бұрын
I like this. I like to think of the left elbow going out horizontally because this also helps me be "unstuck".

When I am striking it my best, it feels like my arms are actually going backwards has my body rotates forwards. Where I do currently have trouble is the clubhead getting inside my hands on the backswing, I really have to concentrate on keeping that figure 8 loop feeling 👌

Those are some nice feels.

The funny part about this is when I was learning about the abducting is that it prevented me from pulling the club from the top. I remarked to my instructor "If I do this, I lose all my leverage to 'move' (or pull) the club from the top".

Wow i have been golfing for only 18mths and after watching this i feel like i will never be able to ha e a good swing. I have never seen anyone on the course or range swing with any of those moves in there swing. This has me so confused now. Lol. Looks like i am going to struggle with golf for rest of my life. 😂

So many different options AMG has gears and show most pros do move the the hands down to shallow Who knows I tried them all and struggled w all of them lol… The thing no one tells you is that if you flatten you have to do something to square the face
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
I fix 4 or 5 players struggling with steep every day. I know what AMG says gears shows however there are other guys using different 3d systems that disagree with AMG. I’d stick with the coaches that show actual students making big gains rather than the theoretical approach. Follow the link to see some actual students getting it done. instagram.com/milolines_golf?igshid=MzMyNGUyNmU2YQ==

Great video, as always, Milo. As you pointed out, there is a squatting or lowering of the upper body at the top of the backswing. This squatting gets you a little closer to the ball/ground. By the time the trail arm gets to impact, you will notice that, in the down-the-line view, the elbow is just perpendicular to and pointing at the belt or slightly just above the belt. When I check out my swing on camera, it seems that my trail arm elbow at impact is more in line with my stomach/obliques. Where do you prefer the trail arm elbow to be pointing at? The belt, just above, well above? Here is Morikawa's swing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmPMnnarf6aNedk At the 00:18 second mark, you can see his elbow right in line with his belt. Here is DJ: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3WWdGWgm6eFiJo Same elbow spot at the 00:20 second mark. However, Rory's elbow is slight above his belt line with less elbow bend. He also stands slightly higher than DJ and Morikawa at impact. See video below, 00:15 second mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmS8nKaAmcqdpck Thank you, Milo. PS: If I may, do you prefer to see the trail arm elbow slightly bent at impact, fully straightened at impact, or massively bent like Morikawa, DJ, Niemann, Hovland, and Justin Suh?
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
We like to see some amount of bend in the trail arm at impact.

Stick a white ball on the end of the alignment rod next time, or maybe some other more visually engaging object.

@@MiloLinesGolf That's how I shallow it out brother, with input on the ground and I don't want anything for it, (maybe a hat) I just want to make the best even better.

Time for a new alignment stick - that one's bent.

When I think about it, the transition is all about shallowing. Terms can be confusing. I do not think you can talk about one without the other. For all practical purposes shallowing and the transition move are one and the same thing.
