This movie just didn't work out. I love the artists involved, but it was a miss. So, I want to take this opportunity to analyze what didn’t work and what could’ve been better, which is how we can learn and grow together as artists.
If you're an aspiring filmmaker, screenwriter, or actor, or if you dream about being a part of the entertainment world, this podcast exposes the reality of what that REALLY means.
Join me as I reflect on unexpected lessons I learned throughout my career in Los Angeles as a screenwriter!

It seems like he was self-indulgent and forgot he was creating entertainment for a paying audience. Thanks for your excellent analysis, Seda.

@@scriptalchemist I value your honesty, Seda, esp. when us East-Coasters don't get to experience closeup what you do. :)

I appreciate the review. That saves me time from wasting it on a movie that doesn’t make sense. Such a shame because it has a great cast. I definitely won’t be watching it. It’s funny you say that everyone in Los Angeles stay through the credits out here in the east coast everyone leaves as soon as it ends. Unless everyone is waiting for a sneak peek to the next movie like they do in Marvel movies. Thanks for sharing 😊

@@SusyRohrscheib Thank you, I’m glad it was helpful! Where I grew up, people also leave as soon as the movie ends. It was a shock at first when I saw people sitting through the credits. My reason to stay is to see if I know anyone who worked on the project and to expand my knowledge of network. This movie didn’t leave me with any patience to do that 😅🙏🏼

I'm on the East Coast and, as a screenwriter, always sit through the credits because I like to look for people I know. Thanks, Seda, I'll avoid this one. :)

@@Azaz011 Of course! Thanks for asking. We’re definitely gonna get there, but the short answer is, I did my MFA in Screenwriting in Los Angeles. I made connections and got booked on projects, which is when I could apply for an O-1 artist visa. Make sure to Google and read about it 😊

So ma’am, how can a writer from outside the US who is not a WGA member get a writer visa?
@scriptalchemist
@scriptalchemist 3 ай бұрын
@@Azaz011 They require you to have awards, press, work for the next 3 years in the US & many other things for the artist visa. (That’s O-1 visa and please Google it for further specific information.) Most people come here on an F-1 visa first for education, then they network and secure work before applying.
