Thank you for this video. It gives those out there that don't know much about growing hair advice on how to go about how it
@NoName-it4uu4 жыл бұрын
Well, this year is probably the best time to try and grow my hair. I wouldn't be worried about the awkward stages since I wouldn't be going out that frequently anyway and if it gets uncomfortable I can just use a hat/cap/bonnet to keep it in place. I love the advice/tips you give about growing hairs. The awkward stages does indeed affect the motivation. Also, I don't if people experience this but the pressure from your surroundings can also affect that motivation. Like when people not used to seeing you have longer hair sort of discourage you in trying to do so, or when the weather gets too hot and that long hair can get really uncomfortable real fast.

I’m a marine so I have to keep my hair short but once my enlistment is up, I intend to grow my hair out to my shoulders just to see what it’s like. Probably not going to keep it long for very long but it’s kind of a bucket list thing for me
@Supdoode4 жыл бұрын
Tip from someone who’s been on and off with long hair since middle school. don’t use hair ties that have rubber-bands inside them, they damaged your hair and don’t wear a bun/ponytail etc too tight or else it’ll start pulling your hairline hair and rip them out. It’ll grow back but it’ll take a while so wear it down when you can. It’s okay to wash everyday but try every other day and avoid getting the hair wet when not washing it cause it’ll cause dandruff and make your scalp itchy after you shower. Condition once or twice a week. Don’t sleep with wet hair! Comb/brush it before your sleep. Trust me this all so you can have health hair. Edit: don’t brush curly hair, it’ll cause breakage and your hair will be frizzy. Also don’t wash with hot water. Use a temp between cool & warm and once it reaches your shoulders start getting a trim every 3 months to trim split ends (if you have any and depends on your hair, how much you have and how fast it grows) but it’ll help your hair grow more healtier. A inch is fine. It’ll feel like a lot but it’ll grow back. (2nd edit, 11/19/2020) some people have told me they sleep with wet hair, everyone is different. I've asked some curly hair peeps how they care for their hair and i got multiple results. i'd say do research and definitely keep you hair moisturized since curly hair is naturally curly and look into a "leave in conditioner" and trim at least every 3 months to cut off any split ends and use "wide tooth" comb to detangle your hair. Using a "fine toothed" comb will prevent breakage, i have wavy hair and sometimes acts curly so it helps a lot since i have a ton of hair. i usually detangle after i shower and i apply a "garnier fructis style 'curl sculpt' conditioning cream gel and its meant for curly hair. i think this one benefit curly hair peeps! try this at the end of your end just to see how it reacts or on your wrist incase anyone is allergic, i wouldn't want anyone to lose, burn or something happen to their hair. It's a moisturizing conditioner, it'll leave you hair shiny and looking "wet" (not soaked). i also use "sleek and shine" its just used to prevent frizzing, its by the same brand.

Just say I’m growing my hair out can you trim around the ears/sideburn, neckline, so I don’t get a mullet. Basically the first year and half is all about making sure the hair at the top can reach the hair at your neckline, since it’s going to be 3-4 inches behind for a while. The trimming sideburns makes it so whilst you slick your hair back, your facial shape and look is presentable

I grew my hair out some years back, I had a long hairstyle for about 4 years, everyone said I looked like Jesus. I even used to put it in cane-row and box-plat styles, it was fun. The reason I cut though, was because of one dry season where the Caribbean sun shining down on my galvanize roof made it to hot to live with thick long hair, and even if I tied it up it was so wet from humidity that it got quite heavy and uncomfortable. Anyone going to grow their hair, make sure to consider the location and the type hair you have or you may have a bad time. Though I do miss it sometimes, I gave me some kind of presence. Many people still ask me about it and I cut it almost 3 years ago.

It's safe to say there's a lot of information on your channel about hair, but do you have any advice on what to do with problem hair malfunctions like cowlicks? I'm 54 years old and have long hair. My hair was long throughout my childhood in the 70s when most boys had long hair. I had short hair in the very early 80s but discovered a love of Heavy Metal and inadvertently started a Heavy Metal gang in school so by our junior year we all had long hair so you are right that it takes time to grow. A friend, who is a hair stylist told me that hair grows half an inch per month. In 1989 my kind of Metal became stagnant and I was in love with a beautiful girl from California so I cut my hair. A few years ago I was thinking about how i missed the long hair so I tried growing it long again. In March of last year my best friend's mother died so I cut my hair for the memorial service it was butchered but it grew back.

The one hairstyle i have never done is long hair so i descide to get out of my comfort zone and grow it out. I'm excited and feel this is going to be an interesting journey to find out how i like it and how long. Definitely not easy cause I live in a humid and hot climate, there are days i want to cut it but keep pushing through. I've found i prefer simply to use conditioner and no longer use shampoo anymore it works much better. I am glad i found this channel will be subbing. 😁
