Georgia Tech's defense is clearly better on defense. FSU didn't lose because of DJU. They got dominated at the LOS and they didn't tackle well.
@keithconnell84602 ай бұрын
Partially true. They got run over, but you won't win in today's game scoring in the 20s and not having an offense that can push it downfield. FSU is 8-4 if the offense doesn't get better. If they improve, then maybe 10 wins.

I wish we had been told as a fan base, that we just arent seeing the level of play from our players that we had last year and that this team still has a lot of growing to do. I think this team thought they were so good that they didnt need to go as absolutely hard as possible. This team needs to understand that you can lose on any given saturday. They need to get very serious. They to take this loss as an embarrassing motivator and get pissed going forward. @user-bc6ll5mt4j2 ай бұрын
As a clemson fan this is who DJ has always been. He is a timid passer, and runner. Hes too conservative with the ball and likes to just throw short passes. His stats look decent on paper but what is really happening on alot of drives is he just throws some short passes, picks up a few first downs and then the drive stalls and they punt. So he pads his stats but it doesn't actually result in any points scored which is what really matters. In his two years starting for clemson he had only 1 game where he threw for more than 300 yards. When he does throw down field his accuracy isnt great but its not bad enough to warrant not trying to do it at all. If you dont throw down field the other team can just load the box with players to stop the run and short pass game and at that point your offense likely wont score alot of points, so you have to rely on your defense to win games for you. Clemson had great defenses so that worked fairly well.

Also, like dinosaurs, will Dabo’s inability to adapt and his stubbornness result in his own demise? I think deep down all Clemson fans know the answer to that question. 🤔

Jordan Travis made FSU’s offensive line look a million times better than they were over the past two seasons. FSU’s new defense was UNPROVEN going into this season. Their defense believed all the off season hype they were getting. Unfortunately, they’re not as good as what most people thought. Yeah, DJ wasn't the issue. Horrible play calling, no in game adjustments until it was absolutely forced, and then once FSU did tie it at 21, the defense couldn't get off the field. DJ doesn't play defense, can't put that part on him -- and after FSU's eight minute scoring drive, the defense should have been very well rested. Three good plays, force a punt, DJ ball-controls it down to the 30 and monster leg kicker drills a FG for FSU. That's what should have happened, but the defense choked.

Not surprised by the loss. Never bought into the hype like other FSU fans. We were trying to replace some real difference makers on the team from last year. On top of that, bringing in a QB from the portal that has been having issues throughout his career. Biggest difference between JT and DJ is that JT was here for four years, and Norvell had time to develop him and implement him into the offense. People forget that JT starting out wasn’t great and he was almost at the point of giving up football all together before Norvell brought him under his wing. Kinda hard to do that with a portal QB in his last year that’s still having issues. But to place the loss solely on him is pretty unreasonable. I mean converting two 4th down plays on the same drive to score and tie the game. That took some real pressure to do. But also completely overthrowing passes to receivers and timid running still shows some of his issues. Offensive line had its issues at times but nothing compared to what we saw on the defensive side of the ball. Lastly, the biggest issue in the game, imo, was the terrible play calling and lack of adjustments in game. They ran the ball every 2nd down in the game and they continuously kept running it at a stacked box for the entire game. I think Norvell knows that he really called a bad game on top of bad clock management closing out the game. I think there is blame to go all around for the loss. We’ll see if the coaches and players will be able to improve for the next game.

I pin 100% of the blame on the defense. After FSU tied the game at 21, GT drained the final seven minutes off the clock because the defense couldn't make a play and get off the field. Compare with fellow ACC member SMU. SMU's defense took the field yesterday with 5 minutes left and the Mustangs down 1. Unlike FSU, SMU *actually made a stop* and got the ball back for their offense, and the offense got the game winning TD. The defense MUST be able to get off the field in that circumstance. I think the bigger deal for FSU is that it's a conference loss. They are now relying on GT to make a lot of ACC teams struggle. I think they can but it puts a ton of pressure on FSU to be perfect in conference from here on out.

I don't know why everyone is surprised. This is why you can't rely on trying to build your team out the portal year after year. They'll be fine but there is no chemistry. An AU throwaway had a monster game at edge for Georgia Tech. That Oline isn't on the same page

Excellent analysis spot on JD! Congratulations to Georgia Tech. You could see them coming on last year, dangerous team big heart. The most disappointing thing as an FSU fan was the “vaunted” run game. Granted Alex Atkins offensive line coach and offensive coordinator was not at the game, but I certainly am not making any excuses. It was pathetic. The rest is simply a young team and new transfers looking for the men’s room. I actually love the negative hater comments, knowing Novell’s history 3 wins 5, 10 and 13 wins, and now he has more talent than ever. For those of you out there that simply just cannot understand Florida State being pissed off after being screwed by the corrupt fascist college ball $cam $aban, if it was your team, you’d be singing a different tune. If it happened to Alabama or Georgia 13-0 no playoff?Tuscaloosa and Athens would look like Fallujah by now.
@dairyair53712 ай бұрын
Everyone understands why you should be mad, that’s not the issue. It’s the reaction to being unfairly punished. Acting like spoiled children and worse, trying to defend that embarrassment of a team you put on the field to represent your school. You earned that reputation. GA went the opposite way and when players were interviewed, they didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to play as a team one last time. It’s all about culture.

Well said! It’s back to work now. FSU controls its destiny.
@nadiasarmova92732 ай бұрын
@@dairyair5371 who acted like spoiled children? You must be talking about the fans. Mike Norvell doesn’t control the culture of the fan base. His job is to create the culture in the locker room and if you’ve followed him at all during his tenure at FSU, he’s done a remarkable job. As for FSU fans, every fan base is a mix of intelligentsia and boneheads. Welcome to America 🇺🇸!

What happened? We got our teeth kicked in down in the trenches. Defense was atrocious, and running the ball into a stacked box, even on 3rd and long is crazy. If Mike is going to start Dj, he is going to have to trust him to run the offense more.

Fullers defense doesn’t do well against them mesh style offenses. We seen it against Wake a couple years back.
@jedi7422 ай бұрын
Here is my take. 1. The defensive line was extremely disappointing. 2. DJU did what he had to do in the fourth quarter drive. Very impressive drive and he IS improving his confidence. 3. FSU only got SEVEN possessions the entire game and scored on 4 of them. 4. Ga Tech is better than everyone thinks. We don't know if this is a bad loss for FSU yet. 5. Stop the hate. I would like to see you throw a football 90 yards.
