I lost all sympathy the moment they gave up because they didn't make the playoffs. They refused to acknowledge they didn't belong there even though they were undefeated and they knew Georgia was going to stomp a mud hole in them even on their best day. As an FSU student, I can tell you, many of us NEVER wanted DJ. As for the conference thing, it was never about being "better" than the acc. It was and is about an untenable revenue model, which why us and clemson wanted to be in the SEC/B1G. Finally, no undefeated SEC/B1G champion would have ever been left out. Regardless of circumstances. SO yeah in the long run I want us to still leave.

Back to back losses to App and Oregon was pretty bad and App is probably a worse loss but they did get it together vs an admittedly terrible Notre Dame and a then-ranked 10 (and ultimately ranked 25) Penn State team. Closed out the year with a pretty big upset of their own over Florida too. FSU still hasn’t turned it around at all. Rest of the season will tell though.

Let’s face it at this point you all may be wishing for the god awful Willie Taggert days if things go the way they’re looking! I have nothing but respect for FSU from the days of Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher, but let’s be real you all have been sliding down in quality as a team in its entirety (a clear case that it’s not always the case that a team equals what the sum of all its players is.) While yes you’ve had a few good seasons since Jameis’s last year and the year after, nothing has come close to those days. Definitely did something to Norvell. He couldn’t rally any of his team to play in that game and was missing 22 starters I believe. Clearly our team bought into Jordan Travis more than they bought into Mike Norvell. As a head coach that has to be a huge mental block for none of your players to want to show up for you when your pride is on the line. Even if they lost but still kept the game relatively close which they could have if their defense was all second stringers people could’ve been sympathetic to the injuries ruining an undefeated season.

It didnt start with the jordan travis injury. After the jordan travis injury fsu still played with a winning spirit. What truly crushed their winning spirit and was the main reason for their collapse was the committee decision. I refuse to believe the Jordan Travis injury was the reason they were left out, I think it was a scapegoat to let an SEC team in. Even if he was healthy the same thing would have happened. I think we need to remember that these players are not only college kids instead of professional athletes, but human as well. We can't fathom the idea of dedicating years of hard work in a rigorous college football program only to be snubbed in a way that's out of your control, being told that you being literally PERFECT still isn't good enough. It likely cant help but affect the way you play. After all, you were just told the results of the games dont matter, and it's the eye test that counts, so why care about winning? You can say it's an attitude problem but it's a justified attitude problem.
