For OLEDs in monitor use: - Set the taskbar to hide and only pop up when cursored over - Set your desktop background as pure black or a gentle animation that lets every non-black pixel change over time - For extended browsing sessions, use it in full-screen mode, or experiment with custom solutions to auto-hide its UI - Dark mode everything Comment below with more tips 🙂

Reviewers who are sponsored by certain tv brands misguided public by emphasizing about brightness as if brighter tv is considered better . Some tv are only good at brightness , but nothing else . These brands sponsored the reviewers to focus on brightness . Long ago , we only talk about contract , not brighness . In real fact , we want the picture to be just as bright as what it should be , too bright will not be good to our eyes . That is why , i,like SONY , because everything is sompleasing in our eyes , not overly bright . The color is natural and beautiful . I watch tv programmes like Discovery, animal planet etc , i need natural color , so that the feeling as if we are there to observe .

I want to know whats considered by tv tech standards, as a "bright" room or "dim" room. Its subjective for sure. My living room is obviously brighter during the day even with shades and curtains closed and dimmer at night with a single lamp on. I wouldn't say its bright compared to a room with full light coming in through large windows though. What's bright for me may be dim compared to other environments. Would be nice to see demos of these tvs in different lighting scenarios instead of just pick this if your room is bright or pick this if its dark.

I’ll have to check out the S95B & G2 and see which is brighter but regardless I will go into the service menu and disable any auto dimming that is on by default. I have another question about “burn in” or uneven degradation. We do watch mixed content, but 70% of our content does have some level of black bars since it’s HD movies or shows. My understanding is the black bars themselves do not cause burn in, but rather the opposite effect where it produces uneven degradation bc those top and bottom pixels are degrading slower. Another aspect that I don't see reviewed very often is operating system. It's the single most used aspect of a TV on a daily basis. If I ask my wife what she wants in a tv she says Roku and I don't disagree. I like the simplified Roku interface on our TCL's and find the others to be way too pushy trying to offer suggestions and taking too long to scroll through the options. I'm looking at the A80k or C1/C2, but I'll miss Roku.
@SlimyPenguin242 жыл бұрын
The TV's OS is actually one of the least important aspects to consider as it can be so easily changed with a streaming stick or box. You can go for whatever TV you want and just add a 4k Roku stick. Plus, HDMI CEC means you won't even need to worry about another remote as your TV will control it as well (worth noting that I do keep my Chromecast remote around as it sometimes doesn't turn on with my TV, but this is rare).

This eliminates worry about friends or family leaving a static streaming menu on the screen for extended periods when I’m not around.

For the last two days I've been considering a 42" LG C2 versus a 55" Sony X90K. I do play video games a lot and I play Warframe, Destiny 2, Neverwinter, FFXIV, etc. All of them have static UIs and I usually game for 6+ hours on days off. After doing all my research, I'm going with the X90K. If a TV manufacturer has to warranty the OLED for 5 years and they have a bunch of software/hardware that helps against burn-in, it's obviously an issue. It's the same reason I didn't buy a Plasma because I game. This video was very informative, thanks. Maybe by the time I buy one again, OLEDs will be better or something better will be out that doesn't have burn-in issues.

I got the 42' lg c2 literally no problem. You didn't do enough research. There are tons of videos comparing oled tvs, and lg uses woled, which is used for the previous image burn in issue. Don't spread false narratives.

hey FOMO, looking forward to you adding sports watching to your reviews. Very curious on your opion on that topic with OLED (LG C2) vs mini LED (Hisense U8H). Great video as always on this topic.
@paulcox24472 жыл бұрын
If it's mostly sports I would do the Hisense. It will get much much brighter for what would be mostly daytime use.
@mana77722 жыл бұрын
Hisense have absolutely the worst processors, lg C2 would win in every way a Sony oled would technically have the best processor over all. Except when it comes to gaming C2 shine better in that aspect. If it’s brightness you going for would consider the Bravia X95k mini led, or QN90B

I am torn betwwen C1 vs C2 from LG, can sombody advise ? I want C2 but my budget is C1, should I pusdh ny budget to C2 or just stay with C1, mostly for sport & movie, not gaming
@paulcox24472 жыл бұрын
@@edwnsoto18 save the cash. The c1 is at a huge discount RN. You can get a bigger c1 for the price of a c2. Or save the money as you said and don't go over budget. The differences are fairly minimal as TV's go. Better upscaling, better HDR tone mapping if you turn it on, slightly brighter. Motion interpolation is better, but they took away the good bfi, so that's a wash. I own a c1 and I did get to check out the c2 in stores. It's not worth the premium if money is of any concern. That's been the concensus from every review I've seen. 95% of the performance for what 60-70% the price? Go c1 and enjoy it. I'll even give you some good settings if needed :)

Okay. Not to be THAT contrarian, but I have to chime in about the "not worry about burn-in" section of this video. I purchased Sony's Flagship A90J OLED around two years ago. I used it for mostly streaming and light video gaming. Last month, I noticed a horizontal burn-in bar towards the bottom of the screen, mainly noticeable during scenes that were reddish/orange. Come to find out, what caused it was KZbin'S PROGRESS BAR!!!!! Yes, okay, I readily admit that I watched tons of KZbin on that TV... but for cryin' out loud!!! I, too, was mollified by the whole 'burn in doesn't happen these days" malarkey.... and would never have imagined in a million years that the KZbin progress bar would cause burn-in on a Sony Flagship OLED. I am completely gutted. And no, that wasn't a cheap TV either.... which makes me even MORE salty! PS: There is a bittersweet ending, thought. This gave me the excuse to replace it with the 77 inch Sony A90L. That is, no lie, the best television experience I have ever had. Bar none.
