This movie look pretty cool ngl. Also, I'm french and I don't know if people knew that but : The animation in Illumination studio is made in Paris. I maybe don't like that much the studio but, I think their animation style is really cool ( I say that because the animators of this movie have also work on Despicable Me )

I think there are two reasons: The first is for the pun. And the second is because zombie humans are just "lesser" versions of humans. Because hey, they're just humans with no intelligence and are virtually useless and super easy to kill alone (unless they have OP powers). But zombie animals are just hyper-aggressive animals that seek to kill you, and these are much more threatening than ones - they have claws, horns, fangs, tusks, the ability to fly, run and/or swim faster than a human, or be strong enough to overturn a car.

I am incredibly excited about Night of the Zoopocalypse, because it looks like if Rob Zombie directed a Pixar movie. Besides, with a majority of animated horror films being made in stop-motion or 2D, it's really interesting to see a new GC-animated film in the horror genre since 2006's Monster House. By the way, an English version of the trailer is going to drop on Halloween next week.

The French studio that coproduced this (actually Spanish film) was Charades, they also coproduced every Mamoru Hosoda film (Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, BELLE, Mirai, The Boy and the Beast, Summer Wars) and The Queen's Corgi. They also coproduced I Lost My Body. I Lost My Body is French, The Queen's Corgi is Belgian, and Mamoru Hosoda's films are Japanese; but Charades coproduced them. French companies often coproduce films outside France. Robot Dreams is also Spanish and the French coproduced it too. Same with Studio Ghibli's films, The Imaginary: Yaneura no Rudger, Ghost Cat Anzu, and Makoto Shinkai's Suzume.

By coproduction from Charades you mean the animation department? not sure about that. Characters are from macguff belgium. modeling, surfacing, light and comp are from L'atelier animation and realisation is from house of cool.
