Heh April. Of coarse watching you with your birds is always so much fun and your love for them is to the moon and back. I've been wanting to tell you how much I love love your name. I know this is off bird topic but when I watch you my heart.💝 skips a beat. It's crazy how much you look like my first born April who has exactly same strawberry blonde hair as you. I'm 64 and had her at 18. I had her name picked out at the young age of 12. It's her birthday June 20th and I have not seen her in over 30 years which breaks my heart. Anyway I just have to say I seem to have this special place for The Umbrella Cockato's. I could cuddle yours for hours. I know how they love to cuddle to a fault lol. Bit Man that has to be hard with those Big pools for eyes. How anyone could abuse any animals is beyound me. To me it's pure evil because they are helpless and are forced to depend on humans for their love and food, water, everything. I wish with all my heart I could have a bird being 64 with many illnesses would be nor fair to any animal. So I get my daily fix several times a day watching my favorite bird parents like you. Thx for sharing your morning. Oh and BIG OUCH on your finger. My sister is hairdresser and had nasty cuts as those scissors are razor sharp. Take good care of it as birds need their Mama.

Trying to get my Charlie to take to the Caitec Oven Baked Bites. Weirdly, he refuses them but will eat a ton of veggies. Waiting for that magical moment he takes one from me to toss it across the room, and accidentally tastes enough he falls in love with it! Haha

My budgies eat Harrison's super fine high potency and Harrison's bird bread. My avian vet suggested it to me because I was feeding just seeds. Really makes a difference in their health. I used a 3 sided mirror called hall of mirrors from J.W TOYS. Also suggested by vet. Really works for small birds. I also give them dried fruits and fresh vegetables. Great video with great information. Hopefully more birds owners stay away from just seed diets.

Both of my parrots LOVE Harrison's pellets!! Trying to get them to also eat TOPS. Also, yes, parrots can be picky or "wasteful" but I use the scraps they don't eat and give it to our chickens!! They love it and then 0 waste! Or if you don't have chickens, throw the scraps outside in the yard for the wild critters (away from the house) I do this for chop and seeds/treats

Hey flower - my tuppence worth: I hope you'll still do some 'staged' videos. I love love love seeing you with your birds in your bird room, but the 'staged' ones are also great. High production value and very informative. And always great fun, because you, dear lady, and your birds are UTTERLY BONKERS, so it never comes across as too dry. Some of my favourite PP posts are the ones from your 'studio', esp eg Living With Those Crazy Caiques, Parrots Do Not Make Good Christmas Presents, and who can forget Apple Cider Vinegar?! LOL! Lots of people do fast moving reality-show type vlogs. I always felt that your channel stands out 'cos you match your high-voltage energy with well produced, structured & educational videos. Please don't change your style too much - you're unique and doing great! xA

I have 8 birds, 4 caiques and 4 mustache parakeets. I feed zupreem pellets and Roudybush. I enjoyed your video and plan on incorporating the Caitec oven fresh bites and when I go on vacation for a few days, the Christine's Chop Shop. The person I leave to watch my birds can just soak and feed and when I return I will do the fresh chop again. The only one I would not feed my birds is the Harrison's. The ingredients have sunflower seeds in the pellets and I am concerned about my birds getting the fatty liver from the sunflower seeds. I already have one parakeet that came from a rescue and she had been on seeds from her previous owner and she became ill a few months after I got her. She was diagnosed with the fatty liver and finally was able to switch her from seeds to pellets after much resistance. So, no Harrison's for them. I spent lots and lots of $ trying to get her well.

I love watching your videos. I adopted a catilina macaw and a blue fronted amazon. There previous owner had them on a home made bird mix but it was alot of nuts and seeds i really dont think that was healthy at all. What can i do to help them gradually get off that and put them on a good diet ...
@ParrotPlayhouseChannel6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for adopting! You want to take it slow. I would grind the pellets really fine and sprinkle it on the seed. You can also mix the grounded pellets in their wet food (cooked quinoa and chopped vegies. You can also give half pellets and half seed. The important thing is that the birds are eating. I always like to weigh the birds everyday before trying a new diet change. You do not want to see a drastic weight change. It's important to take it slow. 💚

I feed my indian ringneck harrisons high potency super fine pellets with water in so it's mushy or he won't eat it 3 days a week, and a recipe with fresh fruit and veg with brown rice every day and cockatiel seeds 4 times a week, I'm slowly decreasing the seeds because the breeder I got him from fed him cockatiel seeds and I don't want to make him ill by taking him off them straight away, do you think I should keep seeds in his diet, if so how often and what kinds?? Is this diet okay for him, I've heard soo much information and it's all different so I'm quite confused, a reply from anyone who knows what their talking about would be amazing! 😊 Also he's about 7 months old and molting right now so that's why he's on high potency
@ParrotPlayhouseChannel6 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you are doing a really good job! I would get a scale and weigh him every day. It's important to make sure he is gaining weight and stays a healthy weight. I would keep a little seed in his diet or millet. What does you vet say? This is a really good article that will give you the info you need. Harrison is a wonderful pellet for these guys with no artificial dyes. You are doing fantastic! indianringneck.com/feeding/
