Up until quite recently, I had a near crippling fear of flying. It’s only through creators like MentourPilot, GreenDot aviation and yourself have I turned that fear into an absolute aviation obsession. I love these videos. So informative and great to see the human side of flying. Keep up the great work my friend 🙌🏻

It seems that professional pilots are always exactly on centerline when landing. Did you ever struggle with this as a learner pilot?

Based on past experience, deploying the speedbrakes causes minor vibrations, usually more detectable if sitting near the wings. Not very uncomfortable, but certainly bizarre.

Why or how does the A330 almost always land smoothly compared to other aircrafts? Does it have better floating or gliding capabilities compared to the other aircrafts? I also heard the a330neo even enhaces that effect
@Pascalklr6 ай бұрын
It is easier to land than a B737 but it’s definitely not always soft. I think the bogey beam definitely helps with the softness ✌️

What lights do pilots switch on after gear down? Are they landing lights? Cause i know landing lights comes on below 10000 feet. Or are there extra lights? Cause they seem to push or flick more than one switch
@klappspaten32116 ай бұрын
After gear down the procedures say arm the spoilers, checking that the Autobrake is selected and then switching NOSE Gear Light on T.O position and RWY TURN OFF lights on the ON position. And yes you're right the landings lights are switched on after passing FL100/10000 feet. Hope this was helpful.

@@klappspaten3211 oh I see, so if I'm correct, the nose landing gear light switch is different from the landing light switch, and which ones are the runway turn off lights?🤔
@klappspaten32116 ай бұрын
@@kwasisb5390 Three different switches. In the A330 the landing light is one switch with an on and off position. The runway turnoff lights has also just an on and off position. And the Nose Gear light also called "taxi light" has an "off" , "taxi" and "T.O."(takeoff) position. Once you're entering the runway, regardless of wether you're landing or taking off you use the T.O. position of the Nose Gear light. Once you're on an taxi way the "taxi" position is used. The Runway turnoff light is basically used when ever the Nose Gear light is switched on regardless of its exact positon.
