What Pokémon Cards To Buy With $100, $1,000 and $10,000?

If you had $100, $1,000 or $10,000 to spend on Pokémon cards, what product would you buy? Here's some of the cards and products I'm thinking about, and hopefully it inspires you to daydream and plan how to spend your collection dollars.

I like the idea of going with 3 of the top chases of each era then going backwards. Never thought about that specific strategy

In my opinion, sealed product is the way to go for investing. Look at all the vintage packs and boosters. Cards can be hit or miss. I think the packs are the closest thing to for sure

The chase cards of the modern era, is something I've already been working on and have almost complete. Perfect time to buy is now. 5 year from now ppl will truly think that era is one of the best ever and compile that with pandemic nostalgia, its a no brainer. For me, Its those, just snagged a Neo Genesis Lugia, and working on any shining or gold stars that I can find for cheap. Obviously those are hard to find with a good price point but I'm firm on that. Either a good deal or wont have them and thats fine. Other things I am grabbing are vintage holos, anything e reader, team rocket/gym challenge and heros. I'm not a sealed collector so its more about getting the artwork vs sitting on something that takes up space and hope it makes some money in a few years. I'd also buy any popular pokemon from 151 in psa 10 with a masterball. box price is high, and then to get a good one and it be a 10 are low odds. Lapras is one of my favs and I got it in a 10 for 65 bucks. when you factor in all that and cost to grade, it was such an easy buy. Be on the look out for japanese graded cards to flood the market, and potentially drive prices of everything down across the board. with them having grading now, better quality control, and overall better care for cards that could shift the market majorly and as a collector that doesnt care about selling, its fantastic. imagine picking up blaines charizard in psa 9 japanese for 150 or raw english for similar price. we're getting close to it already.

you sound like so much FOMO lol, most of the things you mentioned have been just your feeling that this is going up therefore i dont wanna miss out if it goes up more! What about the things that you truly enjoy and passionate about? maybe switch it up and add some thoughts on investments and then cards youre truly enjoyable about not just for value/monetary reasons.

Fair, but not entirely. I mention wanting to buy 151 UPC’s in part because my wife and I love opening them. Also I mention toward the end of the video wanting master sets of the E-series sets and base set since those are personal collection goals of mine (nothing to do with financial gain). Last point: I find buying things and watching them grow in value very fun, so it isn’t about FOMO for me, more just enjoyment in market growth and being a part of it. Thx for the comment!!
