If you want to only use powder foundation, you could try heavily moisturizing( maybe even some Maryland or argon oil) let it soak in, apply setting spray, apply the powder foundation, and then apply setting spray over it again , and then blot it with a beauty blender and you should get a really nice , beautiful finish.

My Mom is in her sixties and she's gorgeous like you are, it comes with or you can buy it her Primer which is hydrating and I feel like it works great on me and it looks great on her too. I'm sure you might be just surprised that it looks great on you, I love the blush too and her brushes are amazing I was impressed with her products and I'm a darker complexion than my Mother but it worked for both.

Lord Geller also makes baked balance and glow I recommend that highly too for mature skin it is a little glowy but even under my eyes it looks great I don't use concealer anymore

I've used B&B for about 15 years in Medium (or regular as it was in the early days) but love Balance'n'Glow better for my 50 plus skin. I've got red hair, neutral skin toned and use either Medium or Light depending if I've been on the Tan Luxe drops. I use it more as a finishing powder and absolutely love it! It does give good coverage and was really pleased you featured it. Thank you, you lovely man you! ❤

Laura Gellar is my absolute Go To! Love it, and it lasts all day as a nurse working 12 to 16 hour shifts. Very under-rated in my opinion. I am 52 and cannot recommend this powder foundation enough.

I used to use this, but went to liquid foundation, as I found more of a color match. However, Laura Geller is one of the innovators with her products. She created Spackle, which led the way for other primers. She is much more in the shadows these days. Her products, however , are iconic. One helpful idea would be to use a beauty Blender with a slight amount of setting spray to push this foundation in and lessen any overly matte look, plus soften any harsh areas. People do this flowing the application of powder, so why not try this after a few moments of use. Just a thought.

I love Baked-n-Balance foundation. It covers so well and truly doesn’t settle into my fine lines (I’m 56). I use it on my neck and décolletage (which is super easy with a powder foundation) so I haven’t noticed a color change after applying it.

Wayne, you're the first person I've seen on KZbin talk about Laura Geller products. I'm 37 years old and I've used Laura Geller complexion products for 15 years. I had the exact same problem with the shade "porcelain" being too light and "fair" oxidizing to a darker yellow. I actually mix both shades together and it comes out to be the perfect foundation shade for me. It also matches my neck and I frequently get compliments on how good my skin and foundation looks. It’s tough over 50’s I have gone to CC- creams, I know everyone’s ph is different Laura Mercier turns grey on me, less is better as we age. My daughter actually asked me what foundation are you wearing mom and I was like I’m not I’ve gotten used to putting on a primer and going over it with bronzer Hopefully that helps somebody 💖🌎

I've switched to IT Cosmetics "Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream" for daily use. It has an anti-aging hydrating serum and SPF 50+ broad spectrum physical sunscreen built in, so I can skip a couple of steps. I believe it also comes in a matte formulation. The Laura Mercier, which had been my staple for years, just wasn't cutting it for me any longer. It just seemed to fade too quickly. For special events or an event when I know I'm going be photographed I still use Hourglass foundation though.

I definitely overuse bronzer in the winter. And I have medium brown-black skin. sometimes I just feel the NC50 is too cool but that is what I'm like after 6 months without sun in winter.

I love LG Balance and Brighten. I’ve used it for years. Great video! The bronzer is perfection too!! All other brands turn orange on me except the Laura Geller. I am SO glad her brand is sticking around as there is really nothing on the market quite like it. Her baked blush is also phenomenal!

Thank you for a great video using mineral power foundation Wayne! Having very sensitive skin and rosacea, mineral powder foundation sadly is the only product I can use to cover redness and pores, but I often look cakey, dry and older 😥. I would love hear your tips and see you do a full makeup application showing contouring, blush, highlight etc, using only mineral powder makeup.

I use Laura Geller's Bronze and Brighten in Fair. It has a cool pink undertone and is the only bronzer I have ever found like this. Gives a lovely lift to a whole makeup look without being orangy or too brown.

I've stopped using concealer or foundation and just use my tinted mineral sunblock called tizo. It lasts all day and night and through water. It costs a bit but well worth it. It made my combination skin so much better.

I am 60 , combination skin. I am still using Mac studiofix plus powder foundation 20 years after I started. Still nw 20. I want light coverage and to absorb oily glow and shine from sunscreen. It colour corrects , disappears. If it looks to dry I just spray studio fix or another face spray lightly.

I'm 40 this year and I slather my face in serum, spf moisturiser, eye cream, cream primer, mist primer and strobe cream before applying my base. Then I set mostly with the mist primer again and an aerosol setting spray. I've had dry skin since I was 18 Even had to use face oil in my 20's one particularly harsh winter. I don't mind the shine because I hate looking matte except maybe for my undereyes and in tropical and subtropical heat.

I really enjoy this powder foundation too. I have the fair shade too and it's too dark on me as well. I'd been meaning to get the porcelain color eventually but never followed through because I had other powder foundation that I like more. Hello Wayne, I use bisque by Bare Minerals. It's made for use as a concealer, I use it sparingly all over my face and I think it looks fantastic. I don't look at myself in 4K but people have told me I have beautiful skin. It's a very good product. I'm very light skinned as you can see. That particular product🌞 doesn't oxidize either. ❣

I also use the fair in this foundation and I agree that it does go slightly darker. I also have a Pur foundation in light which is too light so after I’ve used the Laura geller foundation I give a very very light dusting of the pur and it works to stop me looking too dark.

I've used LG B-N-B for years and years and can go between fair and medium. I usually choose fair as I am a very light/med. Very much your coloring with silver/white hair. Never has it oxidized on me but I am, as of late, having a harder time getting a match. Sometimes a sales associate will open the boxes for me to look at since they are hand made and vary slightly. Today I am expecting to receive my order from QVC with 2 fair and 2 light B-N-B in it. Fingers crossed they match. I think this foundation is so overlooked, and whenever I deviated from it I come running back.

At 35 I started mixing and sheering down my own foundations. full coverage was never my thing. I never liked looking flat and I also didn't want ( and still don't want) to spend ages highlighting and conturing and bronzing and blushing to bring dimension back into my face!

I love Balance and brighten, but it doesn't play well with my oily skin. I have been really enjoying BareMinerals Barepro pressed powder foundation. They have a much better range of colors and it just agrees with my skin. Sometimes if I am feeling a bit drier I'll mix it with Balance and Brighten. I have been using these a lot lately and have been having great skin days! (for referance- I will be 50 this summer)

I swear by this foundation on my 49yo skin, but you're absolutely right about the shades. I'm a light in the winter and the light was too orange. I switched to fair and it was absolutely perfect, but I dropped it and it completely shattered, so I bought another fair and it was a little too dark! I think her palettes differ from one to another, depending on how the different colors are swirled. I haven't found that mine oxidizes, but maybe it does and I don't notice it lol. I just love this foundation over any other, liquids included. I have combination skin and swear by this foundation, even with 49yo skin. It never looks chalky.

Yesss love this fojndariom but it does oxidize very quickly. I originally ordered fair and the lightest bronzer and they were so dark and orange on my fair akintonw. LG customer service was amazing, and sent me the Porcelain and a different bronzer to try... As mentioned in this video.. Porcelain calls a bit flat on me so I do mix with the fair.. But I have gone in to try other products just because of LGs amazing customer service. Just got a baked eyeshadow palette, lipstick, and rose spackle primer to try during black Friday sale. 🤗

I put the porcelain in the center & the fair on the outer kind of like highlighting & contouring with the two. Additionally, because of the marbling if you can buy it in store it pays to peek & get one with less of the dark shade in the marbling.

Laura Geller has great products, i personally use both porcelain and fair ,i use fair as contour , I would definitely say yes for over 40 ! I would suggest the Laura Geller baked Elements foundation in porcelain it's also beautiful on skin Her products are wonderful!!

I feel so seen with this video- porcelain makes me look unwell and fair always reads yellow/oxidizes too quick in my skin. I usually combat it by using porcelain on the center of my face and fair around the parameter to give dimension but ACK- whatever company can get that right neutraly shade between fair and porcelain that can be used as an actual foundation for will have my heart and my wallet!

There is Alima Pure which is a great powder foundation with a lot of colors. And it's not "dryish" as Bare Mineral or Lilly Lolo, so for "mature" skin or dry skin it's great.

My skin is porcelain. I use Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer or her long wear foundation. Neither oxidizes on me. I had the same issue with MAC foundations oxidizing and looking like an oompa looompa.

Fenty - give her powder foundation as whirl. It's *great.* I have no issues with it being too grey or orange or yellow (and truly no oxidation like other brands).

I have medium brown black skin and can I find a foundation with a golden undertone....no I cannot!! Yup I either look grey or red. Grey I liberally apply bronzer and Red.....I can only pull that off with a very heavy tan. I have bought a yellow/golden mixer but I haven't tried it on the too red foundations yet.

It's a habit. My hair always gets cut short around my ears but it grows out the fastest and starts to tickle or just stick out awkwardly before the rest of my hair catches up.

I use Nude by Nature (medium) and I absolutely love it! I have oily skin and live in Australia, so it works really well for me a 41 year old. I tried liquids but they pretty much just melt off my skin🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m looking at the LG TSV on QVC and I’m so tempted to try the porcelain. After watching your video I feel validated in my thoughts that light is too dark and oxidizes quickly. Now that you said porcelain is too light and ghastly I’m not sure if I should bother. Thank you.

I find the mixture of colours in the LG fair shade vary so much. I'm using one at the moment that is quite dark, but have another which has a lighter mix which is perfect. With the darker one, I use it on my cheeks & nose (ie where we use bronzer), & then I fill in the gaps with the porcelain shade. It works really well. Maybe that would work for you too, as we have similar colouring. Emma x

I'm 53 and take care of my skin. Buy alot from Skin truth. I had stopped using powder foundation then I had to work in a mask at my salon so I had to stop using my liquid. Inika organic loose mineral foundation, Alima satin matte and Osmosis mineral pressed powder all give a beautiful glow RIGHT AWAY! They have changed my mind about powder foundations forever. I apply over my elta md tinted spf and I'm glowy and set for 9 hours in the salon!!!!! Top off with setting spray (or not) and their beautiful. NO OXIDATION.

I use a mineral foundation from Miild. It is both allergy certified, ecocert and Swan label certified (sustainability). I am pretty cure that they currently is the only makeup brand that has all three certifications. I am 42, and it goes on so smooth and stays all day.

I use BareMinerals, have used it for what seems like forever. This past year, my skin has began showing it's age, so I have added their Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream over their Original Primer, before I brush and buff in their Medium Original (powder) Foundation. I am also beginning not to use concealer under my eyes, as it appears I am not having to use it near as much...it just doesn't apply well under that skin anymore for whatever reason I do not know. I look fine without it. But, I love powder foundation, as long as I am careful to cleans, exfoliate and re-hydrate my skin properly. PS I have noticed your tucking your hair back behind your ears quite often. It's cute! LOL And, I've been watching you for so long that I now have picked up on how you say, "REALLY REALLY REALLY good." I never used to talk like that, but now I do and I am REALLY REALLY REALLY fine with that. Way better than picking up on someone's potty mouth words! I have the exact same shade issues as you with this product. It is the only powder that looks great on my dry skin and doesn't look like 'powder' on my skin. I use the Fair shade as a bronzer and it looks lovely. I so wish they made a shade between Porcelain and Fair.

I use faily light in bareminerals and like you fair in balance and brighten is way way to dark for me but porcelain is ghostly pale. I have mixed the two in the past but it's expensive to buy both shades so I don't 😆 but an in between colour woukd be so good
