I had thin edges due to sickness. Grape seed oil, Jojoba oil and Bee pollen. You still look beautiful, congratulations on the birth of your son 🎉😊

That must’ve been tough to deal with. I’ve never heard of bee pollen for thinning edges. Thank you so much!

Ive been using clove and rosemary water on my edges it's definitely helping.... also I am a student midwife and we tell our clients to stay taking prenatal vitamins and water intake especially if they are breast-feeding because it definitely makes a difference in skin and hair

My aunt was telling me about clove!! I need to try it. I definitely need to keep up with my vitamin intake. Thank you! 🤎

@nattyann I get the cloves from the packets in the Hispanic section on the spice isle for like a dollar and some change and freeze rosemary for around the same price in the produce section

Also as a cosmetologist, it will grow back in time as your hormones become rebalanced which takes up to 3 years. Don’t overdo it with oils and things clogging up your hair follicles and putting tension/friction on the fine hairs while they’re growing in. Swoop bangs and bobs were my go to for coverage. Im pregnant with my second baby and already mental preparing for the loss of my hair lol

Woahhh takes up to 3 years for hormones to rebalance?? Thank you for the advice!! Much appreciated and congratulations on your second baby!! Do you know the gender?
@ashanti5132Күн бұрын
@@nattyann I don’t know the gender yet lol I’m looking forward to finding out next week. But yes up to 3 years for the body to get back to where you were pre pregnancy. It’s honestly crazy what our bodies do to bring life. They say vitamins help but idk I feel like everyone just cycles through things differently so supplements and care regiments just help you get through it by making you pay more attention to how you’re caring for yourself. Just my thoughts though. I was taking my vitamins and breastfeeding and I still lost my hair but it did grow back fine within 6 months 🤷🏽♀️

thanks for sharing this i plan on keeping my locs for life & this is showing me what might happen when i give birth 😫
@briasa435712 күн бұрын
i do believe that your straighter new growth will go through all the loc phases and eventually loc up as well as go back to your regular texture , but your concerns were still valid!

same with the edges ! some castor oil a few days a week, it’ll be back no time . try to have grace mama you created a life , that beautiful process takes up a lot of your energy 💖 you gave yourself for him

I had the same issue when I had my baby almost 4 years ago. I can still look at my locs and see the thicker and thinner areas throughout my hair from pregnancy and postpartum hairloss. I lost my edges on both sides. It looked like I got a taper on the front
@nattyann10 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing that. I thought having locs was gonna save me because of low manipulation. Haha boy was I wrong. Looks like I got a taper in the front too 😂

My roots are the same. The first wash after a retwist has me looking like I haven’t retwisted my hair in 3 months. I currently wash my hair every week, but even when I washed less frequently earlier in my journey, my roots were the same. I've been loc'd for almost 3 years.

Wow at that point you have to be comfortable with going a little free form.✨
