What is mastering? Applied limiter, boosts hi end a bit, lowers subs a bit Client says too loud and bass is missing. Does even less as a response. £100 per track please.

I really love you cable guys but I whole heartedly disagree with you. No matter how perfect your mix is the mastering stage is still so super important. For the same reason adding thing like eq and compression to your buses is important. When you say things like "if your mix is good a mastering engineer shouldn't do much if anything at all" you are giving noobies the wrong idea and I can't understand how you believe that.
