All of the extant works we have from Aristotle are lecture notes from his students. Like Plato, Aristotle wrote dialogues. They just haven't survived. So one of the keys to reading Aristotle is to remember that you're reading someone's lecture notes. Also, there's better than a 99.99% chance you don't know enough Attic Greek to read the original. You're bound to get something lost in translation. Still, Aristotle is one of the greatest and most influential minds in history, and you should at least make an effort.
