@@slackerofhell I get your point but CP3 injured is not the reason why they couldn't win just one game to close the series. They blew a double digit lead in both games 6 and 7, they shot terribly especially in Game 7 ,0-27 from 3. CP3 was never the best player on that team Harden was. The system around him would have never worked even Kobe said it.
@slackerofhell
@slackerofhell 3 жыл бұрын
@@Uchawibeatz Harden might have been the best player but CP3 was definitely the leadership role. The team fell apart without him and when they got their asses kicked the next year it was because the team was basically fractured by then. You could tell both CP3 and Harden didn't like each other. Whenever Harden was off ball he barely tried. He'd walk up the court when CP3 was handling.

Harden's iso game will never work in the postseason as the lead player, which is why he always played under his season averages. It's only going to on the Nets when he has two other superstars that will allow him to work more one on one and not have the defense collapse on him. It's the Rockets coaching fault to never counter it. When Paul was here, he needed the ball more in his hands.

Rockets fan here. What happened was Morey and the front office catered to everything Harden wanted from 2013 onward and it turns out Harden isn't a good GM. They brought in everyone he asked them to bring in that was plausible. He then ran them off because it is a pattern where the other stars got tired of Harden not committing the way they felt he needed to(i.e. hitting up the strip club during playoff series' or slacking off in practice... Etc). He was given the keys to the city and the fans faithfully backed him. Then it became apparent Moreyball and Harden couldn't break through the championship barrier and they started to pivot away from letting him run the team. After that he basically threw a fit and forced the trade. Any goodwill he built up with Houston fans was burned up in HOW he left. The fact that they're doing so terribly now is evidence that he wasn't wrong but if he was gonna opt out, Rafael Stone could've tried to start building a different team instead of cobbling together a hodge podge small ball roster to entice Harden to buy in.

Finally a rockets fan that's honest Harden was the star and the main problem at the same time he was being pampered way too much with him being fully dedicated like everybody else.His weight issues,lack of effort defense for years and his ball hogging plus him exiling co stars was why they never could win dude was selfish as hell and nobody wants to be honest about it

are u guys actually dumb? got everything he wanted. he only had a good team in 2018. they literally played the warriors for 4 years who literally had the better team overall. harden was playing with omer asik, michael beasely, patrick beverly, washed dwight, injured cp3 and you expected to beat the warriors. some you mfs dumb asl. dwight howard played good for the first season n was washed up after that and was passed around. they tried to get jimmy but the timberwolves said no. they tried for durant and it didnt happen. then in 2019 the front office didnt want to go over the luruxy tax to keep the same team from 2018

@@willhooke The Clippers are a what-if. We’ve seen the potential of Paul George Pre-Injury, and Post-Injury on OKC when he was 3rd in the MVP race. We’ve seen what Kawhi can do and he was still doing that. They just underperformed badly especially when losing to the Nuggets who were good but shouldn’t be fully beating a superstar, a potential superstar in Paul George (Inconsistencies limit me from calling him a superstar) and a potential 6MOTY and defensive center in Harrell. They just choked and couldn’t handle the heat. I think they could’ve taken the Lakers to 7 maybe even have beaten them with at their best and actually consistent

It's funny to think Howard was right. They may have done better in the regular season with Harden dominating the ball, but it historically hasn't worked well during the playoffs. They would have done better having a more balanced offense

As a Houstonian, I can tell you that Chris Paul's injury in the playoffs was a death blow to the entire franchise and fanbase. Harden should have never been our primary option and Houston management created a monster by making him the focal point of the offense.

D12 wasn't humble and we all know that his style of ball, like Carmelo's, was going extinct So that was never going to work with that attitude CP3 nearly worked, and had he not got injured, I believe they would be champions Westbrook couldn't work, with hindsight But to be fair, they played very well in the season, but seemed to have a depression in the Bubble The Rockets weren't there, just like the Clippers But they probably still would have lost to LBJ, AD and the Lakers anyway 😮 Both the Lakers and Warriors were pretty stacked teams that the Rockets kept losing to Give Harden those teams and he would have won too I don't agree that Harden really got whatever he wanted He didn't get prime D12, or healthy CP3, or Prime Westbrook But history isn't kind to those without a ring 🪞
