Yeah right. Same Chris Paul was healthy in 2019 and GSW had no KD. They still lost, the Rockets with Harden were never destined to win.

@@Uchawibeatz that was a year later, though. Things change in the course of a year. Look at the Raptors when Kawhi left. Championship with him, 2nd round without, now they'll suddenly be lucky to make playoffs two seasons later. Shit happens, man.
@Uchawibeatz
@Uchawibeatz 3 жыл бұрын
@@slackerofhell I get your point but CP3 injured is not the reason why they couldn't win just one game to close the series. They blew a double digit lead in both games 6 and 7, they shot terribly especially in Game 7 ,0-27 from 3. CP3 was never the best player on that team Harden was. The system around him would have never worked even Kobe said it.
@slackerofhell
@slackerofhell 3 жыл бұрын
@@Uchawibeatz Harden might have been the best player but CP3 was definitely the leadership role. The team fell apart without him and when they got their asses kicked the next year it was because the team was basically fractured by then. You could tell both CP3 and Harden didn't like each other. Whenever Harden was off ball he barely tried. He'd walk up the court when CP3 was handling.
@slackerofhell

@@Uchawibeatz although I do totally agree with you. They couldn't shoot worth shit in game 7. Absolutely abysmal. CP3 being in wouldn't have fixed terrible shooting. So I agree with that. But I think him going down killed morale. Just my thoughts on it.

Harden's iso game will never work in the postseason as the lead player, which is why he always played under his season averages. It's only going to on the Nets when he has two other superstars that will allow him to work more one on one and not have the defense collapse on him. It's the Rockets coaching fault to never counter it. When Paul was here, he needed the ball more in his hands.

D12 wasn't humble and we all know that his style of ball, like Carmelo's, was going extinct So that was never going to work with that attitude CP3 nearly worked, and had he not got injured, I believe they would be champions Westbrook couldn't work, with hindsight But to be fair, they played very well in the season, but seemed to have a depression in the Bubble The Rockets weren't there, just like the Clippers But they probably still would have lost to LBJ, AD and the Lakers anyway 😮 Both the Lakers and Warriors were pretty stacked teams that the Rockets kept losing to Give Harden those teams and he would have won too I don't agree that Harden really got whatever he wanted He didn't get prime D12, or healthy CP3, or Prime Westbrook But history isn't kind to those without a ring 🪞

I feel, having watched a lot of the 2020 season, that was Harden's second best chance with the Rockets to that point, and they were again sunk by injuries. Before Westbrook's injury and the bubble, he and Harden could alternate in wins and coexist if needed - the small ball lineup was effective. However, Westbrook was injured for the bubble and didn't really recover until after the All-Star Break this past season.

If Harden played with Orlando Dwight then there’s an argument for running the offense thru the post, but by this point Dwight was clearly not as good nor was the NBA trending in that direction

tbh why didn’t the rockets just keep them together just for one more season and just get a new lineup they seriously can’t think their team were contenders when they have a sf playing center

Harden stats drop in the playoffs like crazy, manz kinda choked. But yeah it's not their fault they had to play the Warriors with KD. That signing should've been vetoed to protect the competitive balance of the league

Awesome video. I'm really tired of fans blaming the 2018 collapse on CPs injury. That's a straight choke job. Paul has plenty of those himself. But not having CP doesn't excuse blowing huge leads and shooting like trash. MVPs are supposed to close games. Harden is the Karl Malone of the era. Need a big win? Get that dude off the floor. If he's lucky he will do like Clyde Drexler and rely on another superstar to get him his ring, Clyde had a few ugly collapses as well before 1995. If he's not lucky, he will be in that Webber/Malone/Ewing and I include Paul category of amazing talents who have the Loser Gene in their DNA.

Yeah, CP3's injury is not responsible for 27 straight missed 3-pointers. And they lost the following year when Kevin Durant was injured in Game 5, like CP3 was.
