Having a mechanical and still performing the way you did... One really has to have some solid balls to finish a race when something fucks up so badly. We watched it at home and all were impressed by your performance. Huge congrats!

Massive probs for being honest about the "battery-fuckup" ... a lot of the others would have made up some "mysterious damage to the shifting" ;-)

This video is brilliant. I hardly ever comment, but had to here. Well done, and thanks for the open and honest content. Love the way you race. I've followed all forms of tri since 2006, its always the people that go all out that make the sport a spectacle and draw people. I'm pretty sure you'll be on the top step of a huge race soon.

I wanted to start there again this year but because of an injury I needed to push the start to next year. Man and I missed all the stars of our sport including Sebi with his last race in Germany 😥 Hard to imagine having all the legends racing there next year again. Made a few races in Europe and Roth is so cool. The people there with the beautiful landscape - there is no better race out there imo. "The home of triathlon" - this is just right. I hope to see you next year Daniel! It would be great to see you having a great performance there, I know you can win this thing! 👍

I’m my opinion this dude has created the best character in the sport! Need someone like Paddy the Baddy or Conor McGregor or Dennis Rodman or a Diego Maradona! Someone that’s created a character people want to see to blow up the sport! Don’t really matter if they win! Just need a wild card to make some noise! At least for the USA! Obviously sport is Huge wherever Race Roth is, pretty sure it Germany but at this dude says who give a fu

Bro just go back to mechanical dura ace with freaking cables. No batteries or wires letting you down next time. Working technology for 100 years. I am seeing pros dropping out because of electric shifting for years and don't get it.
@okimy3668
@okimy3668 Жыл бұрын
If they were riding mechanical, you'd see them dropping out bc of snapped shifter cables, stuck derailleurs, etc. Both systems have their failure modes, but since pros only ride electronic, you only ever see that fail
@DRD8CZ
@DRD8CZ Жыл бұрын
@@okimy3668 I do not agree. Fewer complex systems like mechanical shifters are less likely to fail out of nowhere.
@okimy3668
@okimy3668 Жыл бұрын
@@DRD8CZ I don't know about that, and tbh I'm not fully convinced. Maybe that's just because a friend of mine had bad luck with cables snapping etc., I haven't had problems (except for adjusting my front derailleur, with is a pain with the newer Shimano ones). Though I'd argue mechanical is more complex, with paddles and cable pull ratios instead of buttons and programmed servo motors. But it's also tried and tested, which is why it works so well. However if you've ever ridden electronic shifting, you'll know that's just more precise and faster than anything an amatuer mechanic could ever set up. Pro mechanics can set mechanical up to be just as good for sure, but they also have a lot of bikes to work on during stage races, which makes electronic the simpler choice. Less to go wrong in that case, but sometimes it still does. As with everything, it's a case of maintentance. Whether that be charging a battery or changing cables, indexing, etc. I actually did a race today, and on the way there I saw someone at the side of the road, working on their mechanical shifting (I know that's not an argument, but just anecdotal, my Ultegra was fine till I crashed, and then it was still fine and I rode on)
