@tilde4350
@tilde4350 9 ай бұрын
@@Colaholiker yes! The basicly done but luckily not filled with children waterpark😳 it was very scary and I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they had been open to the public. The fire spread so quickly. It is going to be interesting to see what happens with rebuilding it and insurance who has to pay.
@Colaholiker
@Colaholiker 9 ай бұрын
@@tilde4350 I think this wouldn't have happened if the water park had been operating. My Swedish isn't particularly good, but from what I've heard, the fire was started due to welding going on. And with it being a construction site, there is a lot more flammable material present than when the water park is operating. What really shocked me as a former firefighter was the video when the flash-over happened and you could literally see the fire running down inside the slides. I hope they will be able to re-build, as Liseberg is such a beautiful park, which I was able to visit twice so far, and I hope to get back there one day.
@tilde4350
@tilde4350 9 ай бұрын
@Colaholiker I agree the cuase of the fire was related to welding and the build being I'm progress. But it is scary how flammable the slides were. They have been getting criticism from experts in the media so they will have to change their fire safety plan for the new building. So it is more of a thought that it was better this happened now so they could fix the flaws vs a fire in the future and the fore spreads more than they anticipated.

This coaster wasn't built by Schwarzkopf. He did the track design but it was built by Zierer. Same as Jetline at GronaLund

Both were involved but it was bought through Schwarzkopf.
@Colaholiker
@Colaholiker 9 ай бұрын
@@CoasterCollege I doubt it. The Schwarzkopf company was already bankrupt and out of business by the time. That's also the reason why this looks "schwarzkopf-ish", but not like a real Schwarzkopf. When the Schwarzkopf company went bankrupt, the rights to the designs were acquired by BHS (their rides business later acquired by Maurer Söhne, now Maurer Rides). This is why Olympia Looping looks like a genuine Schwarzkopf, using the same track type, same trains, etc. Zierer, despite working with Anton Schwarzkopf, didn't have the rights to these designs. So they had to be different. Just two simple to see examples: 1. Normal Schwarzkopf trains have 2 rows of seats per coach. The Zierer trains have one row of seats per coach and the coaches are a lot shorter for that reason. 2. On the normal Schwarzkopf track profile, the backspine and the two running rails form a V shape, with the backspine being lower than the running rails. On the Zierer design, the backspine sits higher and actually "sticks out on top" All of this nitpicking aside, it is believed that Lisebergbanan was Anton Schwarzkopf's favorite coaster of all times.

Having grown up going to Dorney Park, the concept of actually caring about noisy coasters shocks me. They did nothing about the noise of Hercules. That coaster was so loud you had to time your conversations around the cars passing by because if one was close there was zero chance of being heard. You could hear the blasted thing almost anywhere in the park. Actually, you could hear it from the parking lot. The only place you couldn't hear it clearly was Wildwater Kingdom.

Ive been relistening to some of your videos. After watching the Smiler again, I have a question. Do they have camera's around the coaster so that ride staff can keep an eye on all the track? Or something to track the exact position of each train? If not, why? Obviously, you also wanna check with your eyes too, esp for a mechanical issue. Though, if there ever is an accident (very rare, I know) then there is always footage.

Do you think you'd ever cover the 2010 incident on Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingo Land, Yorkshire where the car got stuck upside down? I haven't been able to find the incident report myself, but it's always been an incident I've been interested in as it's my honestly really weird home park. I've always wondered if the thing about the poncho getting trapped on the tracks is real, because the park does or did sell ponchos at a kiosk outside the logflume ride Lost River Ride, which was always popular because it overlooked the lion enclosure, and it wasn't uncommon to see people in that area of the park still in ponchos, and still somehow soaked to the bone. However I've never seen a picture of it or anything besides UK Media, which are quite frankly rags. I also cannot stress how weird this park is, it originally was a zoo and kept dolphins, and was the first site to hold a captive orca in the UK, Cuddles, who did not like it and was so aggressive they had to clean her tank in a shark cage. It's in the middle of nowhere, which is almost impossible to do in England, it's on the Yorkshire Moors, which are cursed in more ways than one. It's also cursed with the presence of Hero, a Zamperla Volare. Quimera which was involved in the major accident at La Feria Chapultepec Magico was from Flamingo Land and also had an incident there, the ride operator was hit by the train, I also can't find much on that, but I genuinely believe they still take shortcuts with their staff training, it seems to be seasonal workers with little staff retention. Also the owner did start a brawl in the parking lot once, and was arrested. It just has a weird vibe, the weather is never nice, but it's home, a weird cursed home park.
