Both Sanders men strike me as being highly intelligent. They understand that, if played long enough, football will destroy the body and mind. Barry stuck around Detroit long enough to set himself up financially, then wisely dipped out. His son used football to pay for college, then used his smarts, and a little help from his last name, to land a great job he will enjoy. Both winners in my book.

As a Stanford fan, I remember his time there, and it was cool to have the son of a legend playing for them. Also EA's headquarters are about 20 minutes away from Stanford's campus, so in that sense it seems like his decision to attend Stanford paid off for his future, even if he was the backup behind Stepfan Taylor and Christian McCaffrey

0:33 Emmitt Smith thanks God every day Barry retired early, Barry was CRUSHING him in stats. If Barry played 15 seasons like Emmitt did, Barry would’ve had 22,000 yards. No doubt. Barry averaged 1,527 yards per season in 10 seasons with 5.0 YPC. Emmitt Smith averaged 1,235 yards per season in 15 seasons and 4.2 YPC. Emmitt Smith is the phony all time rushing leader, he couldn’t carry Barry’s jock. Also Emmitt played on Dallas, the best team with the best line in the 90’s. Put Barry on Dallas and the dude would’ve had 25,000 career yards. Put Emmitt in Detroit and he’s just another RB.

Good video on him!!! Mane! Barry Sanders Jr. inherited his father’s legacy as a running back. I watched his highlights that he would just run the ball all the way through defenders. He is the son of Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders. He learned the game through his legendary father who played 10 seasons with the Lions. He taught him how to play the running back position. He played college football at Stanford and Oklahoma State during his time there. Although, he had no desire to play professional football afterwards and we haven’t heard from him since he quit the team. What had happened to him after all these years?

We faced heritage hall in the playoffs all the time, they recruit higher level players and we just take what we have. S/O CHANDLER LIONS!!!! I think Barry J was snubbed. The numbers he produced were based on a lack of opportunity bc every time he got the ball he balled out. I wouldn't put it past there being some politics in the mix. Someone needs to conduct a one on one interview. This does not discredit McCaffrey as being a great running back, but the numbers don't show a lack of production when Sanders was given the chance.

And although it may sound crazy for all of us fans to contemplate, he may just love his current life more than the one on the gridiron. And don’t we just hate it when guys with talent that surpasses our own don’t follow the exact path we would have forged? Albeit despite the fact our experience is limited to sitting our asses on the couch and judging others. I say congratulations to Barry J. A man who decided to walk his own path, and in doing so, showed us all he was a lot more like his father than we ever gave him credit for. Salute. And side note- how awesome would it be to work for EA?

Super high expectations probably didn't help the man either. You have to wonder what he wasn't doing right. Only 5 carries? Maybe poor effort in pass pro or not enough time in the film room or something. Guess we may never know, but whatever the case, doesn't mean he don't have great character and isn't just as happy and successful doing what he is doing. He's a 3 star and has a greyshirt offer with Michigan State but has straight up offers from Bowling Green and University of Toledo. If he's a late bloomer and takes the greyshirt, building up his body to maybe 195 or more then who knows, otherwise he doesn't look like he has quite the same elusiveness or powerful build of his brother or dad but he's still good.
