While in the witness protection program in the early '80s Henry managed to get arrested in our community just east of Seattle early one morning while crawling out the broken window of a small mini-mart with a couple of bottles of wine in hand after breaking into the place. I was a detective at the time and the next day a couple of federal officers showed up at our department to let us know who Martin Lewis really was, Henry Hill. Eventually Henry got popped by our narcotics task force on a cocaine deal, go figure, and the feds finally had to relocate him. He was truly a schmuck.

Yeah Michael Franzese said he was a nobody, they treated him like a lackey
@RodrigoCen7456Ай бұрын
@@Off_Brand_Mex Most guys in the mob were lackeys, that's kinda how it worked. Unless you were an actual Capo/Boss or some big time earner (which was rare) you were most likely living in severe poverty, usually in and out of jail for doing stupid shit like this. There's a reason gangsters don't live very long Goodfellas isn't the Godfather, the movie was about the street guys which is exactly what Henry was. Michael was basically born into mob royalty and is mostly known for white collar crimes. He was a college boy who grew up with money. Michael is the exception to the rule in every possible way while guys like Henry was the norm.

I think Franzese is kinda pompous and often exaggerates his station with the mob even more than Hill. Franzese said David Chase wanted him to consult on The Sopranos and he turned it down. I call bs
@lavonwatson8814Ай бұрын
@deephouse412 Although he's not wrong about Hill I kind of agree about Franzese, I'm also not a big fan of his born again crap while also clinging to his wise guy status. I guess I just don't trust anyone who's lived that life and claims or something different than what they really are.

The point shaving scandal was eliminated from the movie because it was an active criminal case.

Joe Pescis character was downplayed, what? That mustve been one horrible person

Desimone was a true sociopath. His actual crimes were too gruesome to be recounted. Similarly was Tony Spilotro in Casino (also Joe pesci's character).

If this guy actually had any attention for detail, he wouldn’t have put the picture of pat the cat who was a Philly mob guy when talking about Billy batts. For years people have been using Pat the cats picture. I don’t know why but it’s not what Billy bats look like and in fact, they only found a real picture of Billy as of recent. So these dude doesn’t really have that great of attention for detail.
