Ravel Morrison is a great example of why blossoming too early can be a bad thing. Great men need to be frequently checked and humbled in their development otherwise they get stuck in a teenagers mindset. He had the gift but he knew it too early and had too big ego and now will live in his own shadow. He needed the fathers blessing to keep him humble

He wanted to be a gangster more than a footballer. At Lazio they said all his friends came over right away and started causing trouble. I hope he made enough money. I think you've nailed it. When you sign this guy he appears to come with a street gang. You get attacks on teammates, indiscipline, not showing up for training and in the past there was aggravated assault & robbery. Lazio probably hoped his mates wouldn't show up in Rome but it was the same old story. It's not rocket science why he hasn't fulfilled his potential. The lad could have been the English Zidane based on talent but he couldn't or wouldn't distance himself from his supposed mates and a life of petty crime.

People bash this guy without understanding the true nature to his situation. Imagine having health issues, and to solve it, it would prevent you from passing a drug test, which means you’d be without of a job, and barred from doing what you love. No club was willing to help him. There only interest was to exploit him and get their clubs promotion or silver wears. This is sad

@@malligrub there are. I believe the EPL didn't grant him a TUE originally which was a problem. However TUEs are common now. I'm sure ADHD played its part but it's not the whole story. There's many factors including his illness, his background, his mates who didn't help him at all, discipline issues, anger management, injuries as he got older, his diet, ignoring advice from coaches & doctors in his clubs. The list is long and it's just unfair to say nobody tried to help him. I feel very sorry for this lad tbh. I would love him to get the run of luck he needs to finish his career in the EPL. It's a long shot however

@@23productions35 I've been following United youth teams for years now and he was a bigger talent than Pogba but pure talent doesn't necessarily translate to a better career, and you've highlighted numerous reasons in this video why it didn't work out for him. In the same United youth squad, Tom Thorpe was quite a bit better than Michael Keane who now is an England regular, whilst Thorpe is retired after being released by an Indian side. In fact, Michael Keane's twin brother Will Keane was more talented than him and he plays in league 1 now.

I think it is a failure of not just Sir Alex Ferguson but all these clubs and Managers to not know how to help him with his ADHD. He clearly has a bad version of it and that is why he had problems with concentration. It is a lack of all these managers skill because he is a massive talent that has not been used properly. But he is still only 27 and lets pray that he can still achieve his potential.

You’re talking rubbish mate to be honest. Ravel knocked about with a lot of scrotes and became involved in some nasty gangster shit including alleged witness intimidation, so the ADHD tag only covers so much, the rest is general attitude. George Best, and similar players in the 60’s, 70’s et cetera didn’t have the posse of advisers that modern day players have, and some were alcoholics because they didn’t know how to handle fame, yet they still sustained good careers. Gazza had Bipolar Disorder yet played at the highest level for many years. Ravel had an abundance of talent, and SAF would’ve stuck with him if he was worth the hassle, but he decided that he wasn’t, because of the people surrounding him, and his attitude, so SAF said “Enough”, and this from a manager who has handle some of the most supremely gifted but difficult players around. I hope he gets his shit together, but as for him playing top flight football, I doubt it. Peace and Love

I hope he still makes something of his career and I hope parent clubs loke Man Utd learn from this and treat footballers eapecially young ones with more care and handle their mental health better! Great little doc. I've followed his every move on youtube all the highlights etc all these years. I deduct along with everything else he just doesn't fit in the modern game and he wasn't willing to be flexible. He is a footballer from a by-gone era. A midfielder who despite not minding a tackle and loving the game will run back 20 yards to demand the ball to feet from a centre back turn around and just see whats on. Reqelme ask but unlike Reqelme he wasn't from the same culture or style of football to make tactical allowances for his greater technique. It was never going to happen. You have to build a team around him and you simply can't. What then if he gets inured whole team drops. Fuck I hope the Regge boys do this though and it comes off for a crazy World Cup run. With slowed international pace he'll run games if the opposition lets him

This ideo has aged like rust! He is now 30 and has been fined £2000 for trying to use a dead person's disabled parking badge. His issues are nothing to do with ADHD, or medication. I have ADHD and am on the spectrum for autism, so understand it better than 99% of people on here. And all the meds made me like a zombie. So no way are they actually any good. Many better therapeutic ways to help. His main issue is an inflated sense of self worth and a massive ego.... (Like most young players these days) Also he has a big chip on his shoulder and thinks he is the best of the best. Everyone who plays with him falls out with him. When that ego is rocked or damaged he can not take it well. Which in part is worsened by ADHD. But him just being horrible to people and showing off is nothing to do with ADHD. That's just his horrible narcissistic nature... As proven by the recent fiasco with using dead peoples disability badges. Plain and simple

@@YellowMouse998 he is wasted talent, he is not good enough for Lazio and Ado Den Haag. What made you think that he had the quality to play for Ole?

Man Utd spoil there young players and don’t bring them up well! Look at Pogba and Lingard also but Ravel must be a real nasty piece of work! Imagine having to be picked up for training!

Why the fuck are people acting as though ADHD is the driving force in this Kids trauma? How about Manchester United look at the kid, realise he's a working class kid from shit-poor area of Manchester and accept that working class kids genuinely feel the need to pull knives on one another. How about ya provide him with therapy or something? Lots of people talking about ADHD whilst the fact he's working class in this age is likely one of the core reasons for the fact he's ADHD.

So there you go. They clearly stated that the medication he would've been prescribed would have screwed him and it didn't seem whomever the governing body is that deals with drug testing were going to make an exception for him. I can relate to his situation. I've been diagnosed with non REM Narcolepsy (and AD[H]D), it has always made my life a living hell w/ maintaining work and trying to work it out with those whom I worked for. Things are ok ONLY when I have my meds, the most annoying thing was always explaining it to lets say a supervisor but it could be weeks or months down the line where I may have a delay in my meds and thus one thing could go wrong, I'm not in the ability to directly deal w/ it thus I am instantly put in the "doesn't give a s***" box, It's hard man. Depression easily sets in and one doesn't have a relatable outlet to express things that when kept in, causes actions like the ones Ravel has done, it can just spiral put of control. LET ME BE CLEAR, it isn't like I didn't screw myself over on many an occasion either! Multiple times I made bad decisions on communication, and just basically getting over my own self pity w/ accepting my condition. But there wasn't then and STILL ISN'T a concrete system established to make things lile Narcolepsy and AD[H]D actual mental health disorders that would give patients easy access to not just meds, but regular meetings with basic health doctors & neurologists & psychiatrists that actual work TOGETHER rather just pass you from one to the other only to have conflicting information. Thx for reading and welcome to DC UNITED, Ravel! BARRO BOVA!!!

Most Meds do not work properly and only make the patient a zombie incapable of energy, vigor and clear thought. I understand you have ADHD and Narcolepsy. For me I have high level ADHD and autism and all meds I tried for depression, anxiety, mood swings etc, all failed. All of them. I either got more depressed. More aggressive, more worried, massive migraines, and more suicidal. I am much better off on no drugs, and cutting out sugars, caffeine, and garbage out of my food intake. As well as meditation, or mindfulness. It's not perfect and has taken years to work out (although I do suffer massive OCDS, and have to see a mental health therapist on occasion), all in all ot is still a lot better than any drugs have ever been. All the drugs would have done would have been to turn him into a gormless zombie. Which would slow his brain down and affect his quick thinking brain on the pitch. It would have ruined his career more. The real problem with Ravel (as shown by his recent arrest and fined £2000 for using a dead person's disabled badge to park his car, as well as intimidating a witness when he was younger), is he shows clear signs of narcissism and displays sociopathic traits. He cares for nothing but his own greed, image, reputation, and what he can get now, and is just not a nice person in general. All ADHD has done is make those nasty traits a lot worse. He needs to expand his mind and try other things beyond drugs.
