Being an addict causes anxiety because you know you’re letting everyone down... it’s a vicious cycle. You self medicate to escape reality, then you feel worse . Then you get clean and all the anxiety and depression gets worse, then you need to medicate to cope and you’re back on the merry go round. Good luck, one day at a time. It gets easier even though it’s torture. Eventually you realize that the torture of sobriety is way better than the torture of addiction.

I put this on while in bed and just hearing someone else talk about their issues gave me the drive to get up and be productive. Little late on watching this, just checked out the channel but I'm glad you are back. I'm going through a similar situation, with having abused Xanax, marijuana and other things for an escape. I especially relate on the ghosting part as I've done and still been doing to this day. I've been clean from everything for two months now and relate to how becoming sober is only a small part of the journey.
