My grandmother was born to a jewish father and christian mother in mainland europe before the occupation of the nazis. My great grandfather passed when she was little and my great grandmother remarried another christian. I fully believe this is what saved my grandmother and aunt from the shoah. As a result however, I was never raised with any jewish traditions or culture. We weren't even allowed to discuss that we had jewish ancestry so I find your videos incredibly comforting and a link back to my lost culture. Thank you for this ❤

Slightly off topic, but every time you speak on your traditions as a Sephardic family and make sure to mention your "Ashkenazi brothers" and how their traditions compare, it really warms my heart; just seeing the love and care you take to accommodate your spiritual family, no matter the sect, is really inspiring.

I wish I could have been one of your children to celebrate all the Jewish holidays, and today Hanukkah! The way you celebrate, is so very touching to me. I grew up in a secular Ashkenazi home, and I don’t even remember my parents celebrating any Jewish holidays. They were thoroughly assimilated! I am an older Zionist Jewish woman now, and I do regularly practice some Jewish customs, ie. Lighting and praying on Shabbat, try to keep kosher, and practices of other holidays.

This video made me cry (which is probably not the reaction that is expected!) When you talked about your kids sitting/snuggling with their Dad while he reads to them reminded me so of my own childhood. My Dad always made a point of ensuring that he was home at 8 PM so that he could read a book to me. Even in the midst of tax season (my dad was a CPA), he was always home at 8 to read to me--even if he immediately went back to the office after. Those memories are so precious,and the fact that your husband is making those memories with your kids is truly priceless. My Dad passed away in 2019 of hereditary colon cancer, and memories like those of him reading to me took on such a deeper meaning. My prayer is that your kids hold onto those memories. Even if reading the picture book seems "lame," read it anyway. Hold onto those memories--those precious moments. Moments like that are reminders of the love and the bond between kids and Dad. May your kids build even more loving and precious memories with their Dad--and with you, their Mom, as well. 🙏

As for your question about sponsored videos, I totally understand that creating content for YT is something that takes a lot of time and dedication from you, so I'm more than happy to know that you have some sort of benefit from it! As long as you feel confortable with, and that the brands respect you and your values, I'm happy to watch your choices! But as someone else commented, please be aware that we trust your opinions, so be mindful with the companies you partner with! :)

Hi Alex! I absolutely agree with you and this is why over the 100s of offer i received, I accepted none of them because there was not that feeling of I LOVE IT AND I CAN RECOMMEND THIS to my viewers because this is just not me. A lot of YouTUbers live from their KZbin so they need to have all these sponsors, I do not live off KZbin so i am very selective hence not accepting anythingI truly believe in. If SCrub daddy, a kosher brand i know or other brands i use and love would reach out i would perhaps say yes to them but out of nowhere brands is a no for me. I hope it reassures you that I do not take sponsors just to make money as this is not the goal of my channel:) PLEase let me know if you have more questions! xoxox

A miracle happened when i fully gave my heart to Jeshua and i was able to read the Bible. But i was upset because i didn't understand why my Sabbath was on Sunday and why i didn't celebrate the feasts Hashem has commanded. Since that moment i have been dedicated to celebrating as much as i can. Thank you so much. My faith is all thanks to the Jews who kept the commandments. I pray that the bad things done by Christians in the past and even in the present will not be your sole opinion on who Christians are. If a Christian is adhering to the word, we must understand how important the Jews are and the holy Land of Israel. Bless you and your family. I pray "next year in Yisrael" ❤

Thank you for this! I began learning and practicing Judaism in 2015. It's amazing being able to see everyone's traditions like this. Even though we are all celebrating Chanukah, I notice that no two families celebrate it _exactly_ the same. There is always something that is done "slightly" differently, i.e. some step which has been adjusted for whatever family is celebrating it. This makes me feel a LOT better because I was SO afraid of doing something wrong. My daughter is 10 years old and SUPER excited about it all, and I'm grateful because when she was younger, it was hard for her to be around people who celebrated Christmas while she did not. But now she proudly tells her classmates that we celebrate Chanukah.
@happydillpickle2 жыл бұрын
It's so good to hear your daughter is proud to celebrate Hanukah amongst her classmates who celebrate Christmas. Reading your comment brought back memories of when my children were small and one year decided to invite classmates to our Hanukah party and not understanding why some parents wouldn't let their children come. (they didn't practice any religion which prevented them from coming for any reason: they were just ignorant and made their ignorant reasons clear). That made me really sad and after that experience there were times my son would be so angry about being Jewish. I told him, it's not that you are Jewish that's the problem, it's that these people are ignorant because they refuse to learn! Tell your daughter from me Happy Hanukah and to never stop shining her light.

What a wonderful video! I enjoyed it so much. As a Christian I knew a little about Hanukkah. You taught me even more about this miracle. Your girls did a great job decorating. The cocoa bar is a nice touch. Thank you for all that you do.

Thank you so much for sharing the film of how you celebrate Hanukkah and in explaining the why,what, and who of the celebration. I am a Christian, so we celebrate another holiday of light. I am impressed that Hanukkah focuses on G*d and his provision now and always. Christmas is not always celebrated with this same focus and care. We are all thankful for nights of miracles.

Both my mother's parents were Jewish but my mother married my papa who was a Catholic he insisted that we were raised Catholic! My mother had converted But she always told me in her heart she was not Catholic, She did that for my father.So I got bits and pieces growing up from my mother but feel like I missed out on that life, the life I should have been brought up with! Now at the age of 65 I am trying to learn! I love watching your videos I feel God's presence Very spiritual Thank you

I’m not Jewish. I am a Scottish Pagan and live on Scotland’s north east coast. While yours is not my faith, I love how calm and genuinely happy you all seem. I love hearing about other faiths and I just felt really peaceful and happy watching this video. Thank you for sharing your life.

Thank you for making this video. I read about Israel currently celebrating it and wanted to know more about its history. It is a beautiful way to remember God as a family. Israel will win this war because God is on their side. Blessings.

Your home is so amazingly clean and beautiful and you do it all with such a brilliant smile on your face. Thank you for inspiring me to get to some of those deep cleaning tasks done, that I tend to put off, before i decorate for Christmas. Your videos are so calming also. I appreciate you so much.

Thank you for your wonderful video and Happy Hanukkah! I am from Berlin, and it struck me that your dessert, the marmalade filled donuts, are exactly the same as we here eat every day, in the rest of Germany especially at New Years eve, and know as "Berliner". This is also the root for the joke that JFK's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" means "I am a fruity doughnut" because "Berliner" can mean a person like I am, a man from Berlin - or the delicious dessert you made!
