whats the recommended battery amp for w204 ?? 70 or 100amps ?? any disadvantages if i use a lower amp other than the recommended?

It looks like you are asking about reserve capacity. You can always check the OEM battery specs to see what reserve capacity you need (Assuming the battery is still the same type that was installed in the factory}. Usually the larger capacity one will also have larger dimensions so you will have to ensure that the battery you select will fit. Think of the reserve capacity as similar to a fuel tank. A larger one will allow you to go farther between refueling or charges. Getting a smaller one than required for the vehicle could affect things like the start stop feature since the vehicle will shut off often and restart when you stop at a stop light or stop sign. It could also mean you can't leave the vehicle engine off for as long while you use the infotainment system with the vehicle engine turned off. And if you have any aftermarket systems like sound systems with big amps and subs or dashcam with parking mode enabled, then the battery could empty faster. Hope that helps.

I went to an auto zone and they said they could not replace mine because they would have to Jerry rig it where they have to keep the car running while they replace the battery or it will mess up the computer. Do I have to go to the dealership?

Mercedes has specific locations to hook up a battery charger. The positive and negative posts to use are located away from the battery. You could get a good battery charger and hook it up to these posts to power your vehicles computer while you change the battery. As long as the power from the charger is maintained and you don't accidentally disconnect the charger, the battery should be able to be swapped. Not sure if your specific vehicle has anymore requirements, though.

They did not want the hassle of taking the panels off especially if they are busy. Also running a trickle charge to keep the computer alive during the swap. Lastly running a scan tool to code/register the new battery to prevent the car from overcharging the new battery.
