I am not sure. I haven't seen any PID parameters for TPMS tire pressure. Though it may also depend on the app used. I mostly use the Torque Pro app.

With the hardwire kit for ACC and battery connections, is there any problem if I only connect the ACC wire without the wire for constant battery? Thank you.
@FrakkingCreations13 күн бұрын
It might not turn on. I believe (and I could be wrong) that the dash cam will pull power from the BATT line and turn on/off based on the ACC line. It might work the way you want if you put both the ACC and BATT lines to the ACC fuse tap. I'm assuming you want to hardwire but don't need parking mode.

I don't think so. It may not turn on. There are also many different hardwire kits so some may work while others won't. I think best bet is to connect both ACC and BATT lines to the ACC fuse tap. Though, I haven't tested this out before

@FrakkingCreations15 күн бұрын
We don't make these OBD Port locks. We only reviewed them. There are links to purchase these in the video description. For the OBDSaver specific ones it would have to be one of the 2 universal ones that would fit the Mazda. Please check with the manufacturer to see if it will fit. We don't have a Mazda3 to test with. I also provided another option for a lock in the links. It isn't as secure but may be secure enough for your needs.

Will it let you monitor transmission temperature?
@FrakkingCreations13 күн бұрын
It should but there is a catch. I believe that it is usually the vehicle that determines if the transmission temperature can be monitored. Apps like Torque Pro have a PID parameter for transmission temperature but the vehicle has to also output it to the OBD reader. In past vehicle I have tested this on, I haven't been able to see the transmission temperature when using a different OBD adapter and the Torque Pro app. Note that I was also using this on older vehicles (2005, 2006)

super nice review, thanks for taking the time. i wish I could see a POV where I can see the display screen and if its an eyesore. i understand why they need the plastic screen to magnify the image etc but I kinda hate having something sticking out like a sore thumb, did you get used to it, does it blend in with the car eventually?
@FrakkingCreations18 күн бұрын
Thanks for commenting. We're happy you enjoyed our content. Please share it with anyone else you think would enjoy it. We really do put a lot of effort into our videos. To answer your question... for the POV, I thought the video showed a lot of what I see from my point of view. The camera was in front of me when I filmed it. What kind of POV did you want? A unit without the plastic screen would have to be pretty big like the ones that come built-in to some vehicles. Depending on the vehicle dash you have, it may not stick out as bad as you think. For me, it is perfect. I enjoy using it to this day still. I miss it when I use a vehicle without it. I don't really notice it there, either. I just notice the HUD display when I'm driving. I do use it in an SUV though, where the seating is higher up so in some cars it may be lower down and more in front of your view.

will the odb port setup allow the dash cam to know when the car is in accessory mode vs. off so it can go into parking mode?
@FrakkingCreations22 күн бұрын
Depends on the dash cam and the OBD adapter. Some dash cams implement the parking mode internally like a lot of BlackVues. Others implement it on the hardwire kit (Like VIOFOs) or the OBD adapter. Then you have dash cams that implement it based on motion detected or not in the G-sensor. Others can detect using the voltage of the vehicle (BlackVue and others). When the voltage drops below about 14V or so it knows the vehicle is turned off and then it goes into parking mode. When the voltage drops further to the user set cutoff... For example, 12.2V then it powers down to save the car battery. If the hardwire cable or the OBD adapter cable implements parking mode then they would detect the vehicle is turned off when the voltage drops below 14V. Then based on the user selected cutoff voltage they would power down if it further drops below that cutoff. Best to match the hardwire cable or OBD adapter cable to your dash cam. And also make sure that the dash cam supports parking mode.

@FrakkingCreations23 күн бұрын
Of course not. It's knowledge. Just like other knowledge and tools, it can be used for good or bad. It is always the user that is good or bad. Knowledge of martial arts can be used for self defense or to hurt others. A knife can be used for cooking or to hurt others. It's not the knowledge or the tools that are the problem. It's the bad people that is the problem.

Can the screen on the phone be turned off while mirroring content on the HUD?

No. It needs to be on. Though I found that for Smart view connectivity on Samsung phones allows you to turn the screen into a screensaver mode when you turn the screen off. It's still on but it looks mostly off. Note that on the test phone (which is different than the one used in the video), the Smart view connectivity seems slow.

Can this tool measure TURBO BOOST PRESSURE & TORQUE & HORSE POWER OUTPUT ??? Thanks !
@FrakkingCreations3 күн бұрын
In the Torque Pro app there is a parameter for Boost pressure and calculated Horse power so I do believe it is possible. There are a few things to consider though. 1) does your vehicle output those PID parameters or not. If it doesn't then you won't get a reading. 2) For horse power, it is calculated using several PID parameters. If your vehicle output of data is slow, it won't be instantaneous and may be off. I believe it may also need to be calibrated correctly. Older vehicles can have slower data rates.

Buy a European car or a Lexus they can be optioned in most European. Come standard in many Lexus models. Factory HUD still better except for night vision on HUD. Project on factory windscreen would be better
@FrakkingCreations3 күн бұрын
The factory HUDs are typically very expensive add-ons so they won't come by default. Most people don't want to pay a lot for. Though as with all technology, as it gets cheaper to manufacture and if people want it, it will probably come by default some time in the future... example is how radios used to be the default, then it was radio/tape deck, then CD players and now MP3 players etc...
@RUHappyATM3 күн бұрын
@@FrakkingCreations Yes, they are "expensive" add-ons. But in terms of real cost, most likely actually cost the car makers peanuts. My car has built-in GPS navigation, but developed by an outside company. Found out the car maker decided to go in-house for the next model. Alas, the outside developer wants the owners to pay over $500 for any upgrades to the maps, while the newer models with the in-house developed navigation software get free up-grades. WTF couldn't android auto just be standard with google maps navigation by linking to a mobile hotspot or exactly mirroring a mobile phone's screen, using an off-line navigation like Sygic (on my mobile I have Sygic with lifetime free maps updates for the last 5 years, IIRC I only paid a one-off $50 licence)?

Seems these days everyone wants their cut of the pie.
@RUHappyATM3 күн бұрын
@@FrakkingCreations Yup. Greedy pigs. IMHO it was stoopid of the car maker to rely on outside developers when there were cheaper options, like they could have signed a deal with companies like Sygic to install its SW into the head-unit. The car maker is one of the bigger ones in the world.

@FrakkingCreationsАй бұрын
That's always a possibility like someone drilling the lock on the door of a house. This steering wheel lock has a different type of lock so the disks inside have to line up accordingly. If you drill into the disks they still won't line up so it won't open. I believe you will have to pick the lock.
@gb5584Ай бұрын
@@FrakkingCreations Are you saying it can't be drilled out?
@FrakkingCreationsАй бұрын
I'm saying that compared to typical locks that use pins, this one uses disks. You can drill the disks but if the disks aren't aligned correctly and you drill it, it still won't open. Unless there is a weak spot to drill that would cause it to open. I don't know of any.

i’ve used a tarion camera backpack in a similar tech fashion with storing powerbanks to run or charge electronics for scanning wifi and other cybersecurity tasks while on the go. camera backpacks in general have that side access panel which makes it such a great feature and overlooked outside of the camera photography and drone hobby. your backpack’s fidlock and with light combo looks compelling to try as those are probably unique to that backpack and could be a very practical addon. it would have been cool if the light could somehow attach securely locked onto the round fidlock. that would be awesome.
