I saw an edited version of the whole first season, it's really sad. You see Subaru acting familiar with everyone even tough they talked just once or twice up to that point. And there aren't that many since his main checkpoints are the one in the city, then his second day on the mansion after beatrice knocks him out and after sucessfuly defeating the whale. The house one pretty sure was when he threw himself over the cliff, since it was intentional he wakes up simply worried even tough it was over half of the deaths on the first season

That sort of puts him in a cosmic level of power not being effected by time, mind and reality warping effects. For all they know he is the closest thing to a god or has some power comparable to an arch bishop and the fact everyone can smell witch on him might lead them to coming to a more wild conclusion that he serves another witch and is actively hunting down the cult or happens to be a warlock/witch himself. Having a 'Media' no one has ever seen before claiming it can find the whale and actively leading and or manipulating parties to clap its sky defying cheeks then to not only do that like a chad running into battle like a mad man, he comes out and says 'Oh yhea I am also a possible candidate for this Arch bishop so here is the traitor in our midst and I can fucking see his magic hand bullshit. that magic cannot even detect' Subaru to everyone outside looking in has forbiden knowledge that would require skilled work to find out while actively being ignorant of everything else. He is either an Oracle, a Prophet or some Eldredge abomination on the power level or above the power of everyone around him. Knowledge is power, and subaru seems to always know when something is going to happen or what questions or actions need to happen to get what he needs. Beatrice would likely bring up 'I just told you this morning what a curse is and magically you have a curse' its not just one thing but it consistently happens and I'm starting to suspect everyone is kind of scared of Subaru or respects him as some kind of cheshire cat to not be crossed.

To those who think people should be concerned about Subaru often acting weirdly in the middle of conversations, let me remind you who was near Subaru at each save point: 1st: Apple merchant (and random street NPCs) 2nd: Ram and Rem after he woke up 3rd: Rem and Apple merchant 4th: Felix, Wilhelm et al. 5th: Emilia and the kids 6th: An unconscious Emilia The only person to have seen him act weirdly more than once would be Rem. Not really though, since Subaru woke up normal at the 2nd save point. And if you see a friend act weirdly once in a blue moon, you probably won't give it much thought, even less so when it's a person you just met a month ago. Apparently when you explicitly show "Return by Death from other character's perspective" in order to point out the difference between what we (anime) see and what the world sees, people still can't grasp it. Probably because some people are just incapable of putting themselves in other's shoes.
