What Roleplaying as an Assassin Actually Looks Like | Confession - Immersive Full Sync | AC Unity

Hey everyone! It's been a hot minute since I've posted any ACU content and I've had enough time to resolve any (read: some) grudges I've had against this game in the time since my last effort at choreo, so I figured I'd come back with a bit of a different take on it this go around. Despite this not being my normal style of play, I actually enjoyed making this style of video, so let me know if you'd like to see more videos in this style with this kind of pacing in the future. Definitely, make more videos like this if you can. Roleplaying Assassin's Creed is more fun than it might sound in premise. Recently I replayed AC Revelations and played it in similar fashion, favoring stealth over frontal confrontation, going after the targets most of the time without killing everyone else, and running and hiding in grand AC 1 style after taking down the targets. All in all it was great fun, and it is more attuned to what an Assassin is supposed to be. Deadly but never a genocide and always "staying their blade from the flesh of an innocent."

Love this approach. All the little bits of French dialog are very immersive. And making use of the infiltration/assassination options but in a slightly different way is very nice to see. Looking forward to more of this in the future if you decide to make more!

This was awesome to watch, and 4:07 was perfect: the bell begins to toll, Arno enters the graveyard, and one of your targets meets his end by your hidden blade. Great job!

Haha, thanks, Dallin. I always play Unity in French. I actually prefer not just the accents, but the voices and the way that the dialogue is written in general. The language is a lot more elegant in the French script

Arno is easily the most agile assassin and with the greatest panoply of movements and animations, that, this Paris very realistic and full of details and co-op and that's why despite the 1270 games I could play on XSX, Unity is the one I always come back to.

Yea, I’m definitely going fond of a slightly more measured pace of play (although I still adore the wicked fast stuff that I’m used to). Making Arkham videos seems to have had an effect on me. This one wasn’t too bad to make at all, actually. Probably spent the least amount of time on this out of any of the Unity videos I’ve done.

Like, I loved how in AC1 you had to gather information to kill someone, I played this mission yesterday and literally all I had to do was open the window kill a guard and kill him from 20 mt above him. Huh. I didnt know assassins sprinted to a wall, made a huge noise and let countless people see him boost up the side of a building, just to then climb down the other side (instead of just walking around blending with the crowd), then sprint around the street in the view of several guards doing pointless parkour moves to draw EVEN MORE attention to himself. Truly a master assassin.

Parkour & fast-paced gameplay is core to the Assassin’s Creed experience. These mechanics have been in the games since the beginning. Also, this mission is very clandestine by Levantine Assassin standards. Look at the assassinations in AC1. Many of them involve interrupting public events to assassinate the host in broad daylight in the sight of everyone present. If seeing someone using the core mechanics of the series bothers you, I recommend you go watch videos from a series that appeals to you more. I sense that Hitman would be more up your alley.

@@jcers when the title said “roleplaying as an assassin”, it to me insinuated that you would be roleplaying as a “real life assassin”, not an “assassins creed video game assassin”. I thought it would be interesting to see how you would play it more realisticly. I misinterpreted what the video was trying to be.

@@damanOts fair enough. I do have videos from closer to the beginning of my AC video days where I do try to take a more grounded (albeit still somewhat unrealistic) approach in my AC Unity playlist. The style in this video is certainly more grounded than my usual extremely high-action, non-stop flow that I have in my videos, but it's obviously not 100% realistic and that wasn't the intent. The title was intended more as a shot at the RPG games to show that the more traditional AC games let you roleplay as a Brotherhood Assassin much more effectively than any of the "role-playing games" do.
