Will you elaborate about the original axle configuration being a "bad idea for handling"? I too have opinions about it's flaws & would like to hear yours. Thanks for the hard work!

When a wheel hits a bump it has a force pushing up on it and a force pushing it toward the back of the camper. For the suspension to accelerate the wheel the least amount possible/provide the least resistance it should then let the wheel move up and back relative to the camper. The original leading arm suspension only lets the wheel move forward when it moves up, causing the bump to make the suspension push down hard into the bump and pole vault the camper into the air. Scamp did it that way to cleara low floor and keep low ride height, but we need more clearance for our adventures so I switched to a trailing arm setup that lets the wheel move back and up over bumps with the compromise being that I had to relocate the axle under the low part of the floor.

Going after R U S T . . . Phosphoric acid solution will rid the rust and leave the metal etched . . . Ready for painting or even glassing
