Monolith is an amazingly talented group, it's just a shame they are presided over by one of the most anti-consumer publishers.
@sapporohaust7 жыл бұрын
Stop thinking that the devs are the good guys and the publishers are the bad ones. When you see the devs promoting their shitty pay to win loot box system, when you see the greedy orc animation then you know the devs are also part of the problem. Seeing the devs as the good guys is what publishers want you to think. Because you'll buy the game to 'support' the good guys but in the end the money will go into the bad guys pockets. Publishers don't care that you perceive them as the bad guys as long as you pay.
@goovy37 жыл бұрын
You know that publishers often push developers into doing that kind of shit right?
@sapporohaust7 жыл бұрын
Yes I'm well aware of that. But last time I checked developers were not dumb robots. I don't think it's as straightforward as 'We order, you execute'. Even more when you have developed a successful game like Shadow of Mordor where the publisher would be well advised to listen to the developers.
@RXOBANSH337 жыл бұрын
Well 'devs' for the most part don't really have any say in the loot box systems. You think the animators, sound guys, modelers, lighting artists, coders and so on decide on the loot box stuff? Definitely not, that's not their job.
@sapporohaust7 жыл бұрын
You don't need to insult someone (Sterling) just because you disagree with him. You thinking that since Sterling and I share the same opinion is making me unable to use my own brain is just as absurd as thinking that you've formed your opinion just by yourself. Everyone's opinion takes form in a given context and never from a vacuum. As for using my own brain, I'm a (casual) gamer at heart and passionate enough about my hobby to CLEARLY SEE that pay to win MC are not good. Oh and btw sometimes I say NO to my boss, we have discussion where I try to make my point. Sometimes my boss agrees to my point and the other times I will do what I was tasked for. As I said it's not as simple as "I order, you obey".

Krzysztof Lewicki, cameras don't have the same cost to them as travel. They use those cameras constantly, so they can make that money back. If they travel somewhere, they can't work on anything else while they're away, and the video(s) they produce might not cover the cost of going there. Which is a shame, because I'd love to know how CDPR's sorcery works.

EA and Ubisoft are publishers, not developers. From what I understand, how "nice" it is to work for them depends entirely on what team you're part of.
