I hope the parents in that second story sued the ever-loving shit out of the utilities department. Utterly inexcusable.

I think it is also on the parents to have the life support machine on a battery backup. Cause, you know, cars hit power poles every now and then too.

Yep. It's the Dr's, hospital and insurance responsibility to make sure the parents had EVERYTHING FOR EVERY SITUATION, since the child was born with lung condition...my guess CF... it's on them to provide the parents with everything. Having a medical need child nyself.... they might ship equipment to your house... but you are not to touch it. They send ppl out to set it all up. The equipment is expensive. So even back up battery would of needed to be installed by them. Also I know myself wouldn't have thought of the obvious need. Having been in those moments myself you don't think about things like that. You can't. Because you can't focus, you still hope you're just in a nightmare that feels like it goes on forever.... (my first week of being in those first learning moments of your babies medical illness and all that goes with it.... I didn't believe it was all happening.) I was literally in shock. You can't think of things like that. You're just in autopilot. Just trying to get thru each day, hour, min...seconds of the day. Just my own opinion. The power company tho should send out notices or have a roster of patients in the area that have medical needs. It's all linked up. To prevent an emergency on purpose as if the parents had been up they'd realized power went out and done bagged breathing like they were trained to do (before even being able to take baby home along with CPR and other life saving need in emergency situations etc) until ambulance showed up.

Damn, the kid developing film has a good boss. The world needs more bosses like him. Sad stories though.

When i was about 5 I saw photos on my brother's computer of kids around my age. Explicit photos. I didn't understand what they were. Thankfully, a few years later his roommate found those photos and reported him to the police. He spent some time in prison. Unfortunately, he no longer has a record. Fortunately I have a copy from when he did.

My moms cousin was really mentally ill. She had a daughter and they were staying with us. Her daughter was 1 or 2 years old. I watched her abuse her. She threw her against the wall. Like picked her up and throwing her. I seen her kick her and all types of things. I told my mom and she told me to never speak about again. I still have flashbacks. I was only 6 or 7 😢
