there is a hotspot for the taimen and it's in the little opening area in the rock wall by the left of Bo's kayak at 33:20 it gets you a ton of them and the coordinates are 123, 29 if anyone wanted to use it. I caught a 113 pound taimen there must be the unicorn taimen hidey-hole. Also, using large minnows and a 5/0-7/0 hook gives u the best chances for unicorns and trophies.

Hey Bo, I've been farming Taimen ever since level 48 and now I'm halfway through level 60. I can confirm that this is the best farm If your not wanting to do carp (Buying all the bait, buying all new gear, and paying for all those days) until you hit Marron River. But just as a heads up for other people, The easiest spot, is the North most spawn point with the camp ground, and head directly left until your standing under a dead tree stump. you don't have to cast out far at all until you hit a very deep hole, and its very easy to get to. you definitely want to start with smaller hooks as the big taimen take forever to reel in, but when you get 60 Lb. gear, you can switch to 8/0 barbless with shiners and Common minnows. This way like 99% of the fish are at or over 40 Lbs. and give at least 700Xp and 2000 Dollars for the smaller fish, but trophies and uniques are pretty common. As for time You basically can fish any time that isn't terrible bit rates, specifically at night if your farming, and you only want the peak time on the small middle peak. Ive genuinely filled the 800 pound keep net multiple times with 4 bottom rods and 1 float rod, as the float rod seems to make sure the fish still bite until you ran out of fish to catch for that time. When that happens just skip ahead 2 hours. If you want more specific information or I might have said something in a confusing way, just ask. I've put way too many hours into Taimen :/

You don't use lures for taimen?

you can get over 100lbs net at like lvl 45. i think 50 is 220. also 100% agree with you about the "i bought congo pack at lvl 50 and and grinded to lvl 80" guy. i know alot of people who oncr they got to congo they stopped playing once they hit 80. with skyrim on pc you have the modding community to giv you thousands of hours of new content but with fishing plant, once you hit 80 you no longer have anything you are progressing toward. yes ive seen a guy with rank 775 but not everyone is like him. i just grinded like hell all the way to lvl 50 and JUST bought my lvl 50 bass boat since i didnt think it was worth wasting money on anything else since i knew the lower level boats weren't worth it. but now i no longer have a boat to grind toward because they dont have any boats for f2p to get past lvl 50 and they also announced there will be no f2p ocean boat either, only rent. for now i still have rods, lures, tackles, new areas, new fish, new keepnets, new equipment to gun for and i still have missions and monster fish to catch which will still progress me to new heights but that guy who went from 50-80 in 4 days dosnt have that. he can wait till ocean update and do all the missions he missed on so it isnt dead xp but i doubt he will. now could he be one of the guys who go around trying to get all size fish for all areas? maybe. but alot of those people lose interest after experiencing better areas. i for sure have problems with tiber trying to catch the unique eel when he "your bait was pulled too far from the fish" every 30 seconds and never latches on for 3 hours straight.

Yep, everyone is different. And I would consider myself an outlier... as well as the 'completionist' that wants to complete EVERYTHING the game has to offer. I believe the majority of players will enjoy the game, work their way up through every fishing area and catch all the fish they're interested in, and when that is said and done with... stop playing. Which is where I would certainly be if it weren't for all these videos 😆

So is Congo the actual end? I know they're adding the ocean stuff, but surely they'll add more water ways eventually
@kolbychancellor8 ай бұрын
Additionally even if it is the end I'll probably go back and just keep playing only because I enjoy fishing and if I can't actually get out and go fishing, fishing planet is a quality way to sort of scratch that itch

Have they said anything along those lines? Like just being done after the new map ?

@@coreyprentice9729 nah, if anything they mentioned the opposite, they said they had quite a few ocean maps to add and then who knows!

I'm probably never going to weeping willow, i hate most of the euro maps/fish (I'm currently lvl73), and, catching carp seems like a job, having to FEED the fish (spod) BEFORE you catch the fish? (I'd rather feed fish in a fish tank thanks😂), I'ma pass on that, and carp are a pest here in Australia anyway, and if you catch one you have to throw it away in the rubbish (you get fined if you put them back in the water), it's considered a "mother-in-law fish" like rock cod, they are the fish you give away to your mother-in-law you don't like🤣.
