Last time I had a McDonald’s was about 5 years ago in Waterloo station on the way back to the hotel after a gig in the O2 Arena. We were starving and it was the only place open. Big regret, spent the next week sitting on the pan with a dodgy stomach. Never again.

I don't know why everyone obsesses over the yoga mat ingredient. Think about it this way, if they started putting concrete in Frankfurters you'd be worried, but if they started using Frankfurters to build roads it would NOT change the taste of a hot dog. I prefer less additives and preservatives in my food but we have bleached and unbleached flour in the UK as well. It is what it is.

I tried a McRib back in the ‘70’,or 80’s in New Jersey US,and I didn’t like it,chicken sandwiches are the only dinner item I ever get at a fast food,and that is on rare occasions.I had gone shopping at the supermarket at about 2-3 am a few weeks ago,and as I had not eaten all day I went through MickyD’s drive through asked for a chicken sandwich,and was told they didn’t have any,so I asked what they did have,and was told they were closed,it’s a 24/7 MickyD so I was very surprised.I was wondering what was going on that night,as I believe they didn’t want to be bothered to cook food for me.😊

If they are bleaching the flour, you're looking at the US ingredients. It is illegal to bleach flour, or to use it, in the UK and the EU. Always check which ingredient list from which country you're looking at 👍👍 And DON'T believe Google!

I had one of those in the 1980s and was thoroughly disappointed. I tried another a couple of years ago and it was every bit as much of a let down. This is the ingredient list from McDonald's own website. McRib Pork Patty Ingredients: Pork, Water, Salt, Dextrose, Rosemary Extract.

Hi Andy, I've just found your channel and subscribed. I tried the McRib and I thought it was disgusting. There was something really off about the taste and texture and mine didn't have gherkins in it and was swimming in bbq sauce. I was so disappointed. I had it as a meal deal and was peed off that I had wasted my money on it. You could do a much better version at home that would taste a lot better.

I'm 53, and I remember when they were around in the '80s. They didn’t appeal to me then, and they still don't. Another one I was disappointed in was the McPhilly; it was really salty. The only things I usually go for at McDonald's are the triple cheeseburger or Big Mac. Everything else is a disappointment.

I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on it but i am pretty sure the yoga mat ingredient is only used in american mcdonalds as they are not allowed to legally use it here in the UK. I saw a video comparing american to UK bread and its also in american bread but they said it was not allowed in foods in the UK

@@fatandy LOL... Mcdonalds in the UK though i know use a lot less ingredients than they used to which may explain why a lot of people are saying it isnt as nice as it used to be.. They definitely though have always used less ingredients than the US counterparts as a lot of the chemical and fake flavours in american mcdonalds as banned here as we have much better food standards regulations here.. theres a video where they compare US to UK mcdonalds ingredients and its literally crazy.. i reckon the 70 ingredients one you saw was the american mcdonalds :P.. thanks for this though... and despite all the bad reviews i will finally try one... 47 years old and i never actually tried one before lol

Extremely disappointed... the taste... the texture of the burger.. maybe they did used to be better but that's something i will never know... needless to say i managed to eat about half before i binned it and got a double cheeseburger instead... can never go wrong with one of those.. value wise easily the best burger they have... although i remember the days when a hamburger was 59p, cheeseburger 69p and double cheeseburger 99p!! dang i remember when the meals were £2.88!!! lol

This version of the McRib looks diffrently to how it should be Andy. It looks to be a lot less sauce then how it was, in Germany the McRib is available all year round I’ve had it there and it was covered in sauce to the extent the sauce was dripping out. The McRib patties when cooked should be kept in the holdhold sections McDonald’s have with the trays filled with the sauce so it’s completely covered and marinades in it. It looks like they are skipping that process and just adding some sauce to the roll when assembling which isn’t the right process for this sandwich. I’ve now seen some other new reviews from the uk with this and looks to be same throughout the country 😂

So basically it's a very poor quality shaped pork patty burger with pickles and BBQ sauce in a chewy cotton roll sub for £4.89.😮 I can go to Aldi's and get the good quality 6 pork patty burgers with 96% pork for £1.99 and a pack of decent rolls which would be a 10 times better by it looks of it. I know when you're out and about it's good to pop in to McDonald's etc to get a bit of lunch or dinner but when you're paying almost a fiver for that and it's rubbish it makes you think twice about eating out of these places because you're wasting your time and cash down the drain.
