They didn’t though.. Dixon, McKenzie and JHF were the only considerable outs. Blues didn’t have McKay for practically the whole game, no Kennedy, Pittonet, Hewett or Young. It was a solid win and I’m a pies fan

We will be the hardest midfield group that they have played these past 4/5 weeks and to top it off we will have a fit Miochek, Titch and Cameron back in the side. Elliot, Tay and Crisp are all back into form and Ash has been killing it since coming back in. Blues won’t have Mckay, Kennedy and possibly Pittonet and Dow. Everyone in these comments seems pretty negative. I for one, look forward to Carlton playing finals this year. I have done some calculations and it will be hard for them to get past the semis, but if they do, and get a little lucky, I can see them winning the Grand Final. What a magical season.

Think the with lions it's a 50/50 positives and negatives from the game. They did heaps right to claw the game back after the first and get ahead by a bit. They did a lot wrong in the fourth. If they scored two more points it'd all be about how did Melbourne throw away their early lead

Was their own doing last year.. they had a chance to put my pies to bed and couldn’t do it. Kicked 0.6 in the 4th whilst pies kicked 5.1. Team that deserved it won the game

When they make the 8 everyone will say "yeah, big deal... they only just made it." Then when they make the Grand Final everyone will say "They got lucky, why are people so excited?" and then when they win the Grand Final people will say "it was because the other team was depleted due to injuries, so it doesn't really count.' Fair suck of the sav. A month ago people were saying they would be lucky to finish 16th and they have just won 4 in a row, if you can't doff your hat to that you're a drongo.

@@skillsmachine9164 Butters was carrying a injury all game, McKenzie has been arguably their best defender besides Alir, JHF, Dixon, Burton and Darcy Byrne-Jones was subbed off at half time. Not even a Port fan but it was more them being disorganised and not showing up then Carlton legitimately beating them

It was one of those games where even the commentators pointed out that the bounce of the ball was just going Carlton’s way. Sometimes it’s just your day. Port got caught out as potentially a little arrogant, resting players and playing around with their line up. When you’re a late in and didn’t even warm up yet end up being one of, if not, the difference it’s probably a safe bet to say, it was your day.

Carlton has beaten the Suns in Mel, Freo in perth, the bye, Port minus a few players ( rested ) and suddenly on fire ? I laughed. Carlton going nowhere. Got the Eagles in Melb, then Collingwood. Collingwood will not be resting players. I do get enjoyment that the media giving hope to the supporter base of Carlton. Only to be let down again in the near future.
