2:55 How are EV OEM's not at fault here when they are the one buying these batteries from China. They obviously must have done research and testing in Indian environment for those batteries.
@sujinsunny66612 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. If it was the Chinese suppliers to blame, the details would be out in 5 minutes of these incidents. I 100% agree, and feel there's some basic design flaw

I only heard incidents of e-scooters, why e-cars don't catch fire? Are they engineered better? Better safety? or just a coincidence?
@Saurabh.P2 жыл бұрын
@@the.amitpatil There are at least 2Lac+ EV 2 wheeler running on Indian roads. How many fire incidences you heard so far? Probably not more than 10-15. In other words your EV catching fire has chances of 0.0075%. That is just negligible but the propaganda and paranoia being created is completely out of the proportion. Just do a simple KZbin search for Petrol 2 and 4 wheeler catching fire, you will find hundreds of the videos. Yes, in ideal world not even single battery should blast but unfortunately we don't live in the perfect world.
@the.amitpatil2 жыл бұрын
@@Saurabh.P would anyone including that guy like to be in one of those 0.0075%? I know accidents happen but the EV makers can't externalise the issue. If they know the batteries they are getting are bad why use them? Why play with lives?
@Saurabh.P2 жыл бұрын
@@the.amitpatil My sympathy with the people who died in those incidences. Are we living in the ideal world? Are you saying me that there should be zero accidents then only I will drive EV? Well with that logic you should stop using any kind of transport at all. As petrol vehicles catches fire in hundreds every year, and chances of someone dying in the road accident is way higher and highest in India in world than dying in EV fire. I am simply giving you statistical common sense.

Don't generalise, only a few are not fully developed, but battery fires are a totally different thing, as most cells are sourced from China and people want cheap stuff, so the importers go in that direction too.

@rajadhirajmaharaj2 жыл бұрын
@@RoamMeYo what cheap stuff? even teslas are bursting in flames. watch Thunderf00t videos where he explains why battery driven vehicles are not the solution. you cant pack huge energy into tiny space and expect no heat/explosion. combustion engines use heating up in its advantage by channeling it to the wheels, EVs cant do that. that's why they are exploding with tesla's cobalt battery in freezing temperatures of europe. imagine how ridiculous it is to expect lithium batteries will work fine in indian weather :P

I'm willing to bet it's NMC - EV manufacturers all over the world, from Tesla to ebike manufacturers are all choosing NMC as they prefer high power density and low cost over safety.

E Vehicle. The name got momentum but not technology. Weather it's engine or battery pack. You are traveling with bomb 😊. It's important how much you are serious about R&D and Engineering goes into it. Believe companies like Mercedes EQ to Tesla, GM, Hyundai, further are spending crores together on R&D. Just to understand technology! Safety relevance. OLA, Pure Ev, Okinawa, are new to it. They are with minds of making money and building big brand. They are very urgent in this race.. they lag significant in terms of technology utilisation. It's not that they don't have technology. They have it but not know how to proceed with it! That similar to "A monkey holding a diamond" On other hand ather, ultraviolet are doing best to upheld customer safety. Just think! Bajaj, hero, Yamaha, Honda TVS are leaders in 2-wheelers why not they are like betting big like these companies 😀

Maybe we should move away from all power coming from the battery. Everyone knows electricity has to run on a continuous circuit. So that principle should be possible with extra components to make a continuous electric engine. It is possible, but doesn’t make the parasitic rich any profits.

Some information in ur video I feel false . Pressure has nothing to do with battery thermal run away .. once pressure change detected even bms or fuse can’t stop the chain reaction. Indian manufacturers need to understand how battery catch fire only then they can prevent such incident . It’s not rocket science . Unfortunately most EV manufacturers I feel keep profit more priority than efficiency which I personally experience in my last 6 years of EV experience in India . We need to learn from ather, ultravoltte how they work . YULU bikes has highest no of bikes running on Indian road … 2 years back they faced many fire incident …but they take this seriously n even after facing many lose they improve n since last 18 month hardly experience any experience …
